    On offer on eBay these GP Wheels
    Not that i'm interested, but it always annoys me that some sellers use carefully worded techniques to sell dodgy gear :disapprove:
    The main title mentions Cooper S Works GP wheels, then when in the auction the word changes to Worx.
    Very clever, so, just to annoy them i asked the question why they use the different words, is it a typo etc etc :approve:

    From the auction:

    "Pictures are for illustrative purposes only and may differ from actual product"

    Says it all! :blackeye::blackeye:

    Yes, the clincher is, the line says "may" this implies that they might be different, not definitely, if the add said:-
    "Pictures are not of the actual item and do not look anything like the picture"

    I was only trying to illustrate the carefully worded techniques used on fleabay, i simply selected this auction as it's relative to the forum 8)

    Another biggy is the use of the word "copy" especially in the record market, when used it can imply a multitude of meanings, most genuine sellers use it unwittingly, but, the more scrupulous use it to "hide" a fake, counterfiet etc

    That ad is a regular ...however ,I'm not sure that the genuine GP wheels even say Works?

    There's a dark silver Cooper S in Falkirk with these wheels on, the fake 'Workx' ones.

    Feet were made to fit car pedals. If we were meant to walk, we'd have pogo sticks for legs

    I got a reply from the sellers, as i thought, the auction is very carefully worded to give an impression but mean something else :mad:
    Folks, i was merely pointing out tactics used by many eBay sellers now to use carefully worded techniques to "hide" the item, plus, it's also used to grab your attention.
    Never a better time to advise that you read every word and question anything you're no sure of

    Beware on Ebay!!!

    As a side note - we have 3 GP's in our local MINI group - and one of our MINI "brothers" out of state - was in a accident on his way home from picking up his GP ( less than 20 miles on it ) -- that was in Oct / Nov. -- he is still waiting for some GP specific parts ( wheels, bumper covers, aero skirts, etc.. ) The "new" GP has been just sitting at the dealer waiting for parts from Europe.

    All our local GP owners have decided to pool thier talents and begin stockpiling the GP only parts as they become available.
