My 52 plate mini has developed a leak from somewhere at the back as the boot floor is constantly damp. Any ideas what could be causing this? Its a bit of a pain as the car now mists up inside all the time.

    Cheers

I've heard it can also be the aerial or the rear boot handle...

try to avoid puddles when out walking in the rain. That should help.

Keeping it in the garage, when it rains is also a good water ingress protection method

I had a leaking boot on my first mini (52 plate) and on my current (05) plate and both times it was the high level brake light letting the water in.

It was the higher level brake light on my 02 ONE.

Whats the solution to fix the high level brake light? should I buy a new seal or is there any other fix. Don't think I want to attack the car with a tube of silicon!!

new high level brake light as the foam gasket usually seperates from it not sure the cost tbh, other ones are the light clusters gaskets leak , the boot washer jet line can become detached and start leaking and if it's an 02 and it's not leaked before i'd say it's unlikely to be the window seal but maybe....

unfortunately water leaks seem to be one of the main bugbears of the R50-R53 mini's
