Huawei phone settings

I have a Huawei P Smart....not the 2019 ......the other one before it , well as far as I know anyway.
Loved iPhone but they have lost the plot with their pricing .............anyway ........................ any idea if its a setting issue that I get a notification when ive received an email?
iPhone used to bing any time i got one.....but i seem to keep missing them on this thing

Unfortunately I don’t know a lot about Huawei phones but you are spot on about I phone pricing

latest issue with it is that when I make an outbound call, more often than not, when the person picks up, theres a sound of being underwater or 'electronic whispering', so need to hang up and dial again
