I got the same for a while this afternoon, came back on after a meeting about 45 ins ago and it was fine...
Tried the chat room, got the same error in the pop-up..

It was the server... seemed to be a wee bitty flakey. All OK now?
I got it this morning, again. I just refreshed a couple of times and it was sorted
