Looks like the F56 has joined a gym with those booty gains
Found this little link to the 2nd gen F56

Seems to contradict the images from the spy shots saying it’ll be a smoother back end

They are possibly talking about nonJCW cars as the video and pictures are both of JCW cars
Apparently a hybrid is coming with the LCI

I like it the steering wheel seems to be a step in the right direction and prefer the electric centre console
Heated steering wheel? Yes please!
Oliver Heilmer MINI’s Head of Design has put up some concept drawings on his Instagram of the LCI2 to be released tomorrow.
Looks good, with a few improvements to the interior, a less curvy frontand also looks like the S doesn’t have a scoop

Here’s the rundown of the changes of the new LCI and some pictures CLICK
I’ve had a read though the above link and I think the LCI is lovely a huge improvement over the outgoing car and brings a fresher design to MINI and now has a nice combination of fun and professionalism and IMO is now a better choice than a 1 series.
Not a fan of that front end, but it might look better in the flesh so to speak, I remember thinking the same when the F56 was announced. The rear bumper changes are nice, like the new side scuttles and some of the other wee touches. The greeny/yellowy colour is really nice, MINI has been needing something like that for ages.
Now eagerly awaiting what the JCW will look like.
Found some JCW pictures, huge improvement over the current car, really like the front and back

I like the rear foglight and the steering wheel buttons
Hello, been a good few years since I have been on here. Currently have a mk8 Fiesta ST.
My question is, will the new variant have Android Auto?
I’ve seen an Alexa option on the screen in one of the videos. Unsure if that’s the same thing Ken
Some pictures of the LCI JCW CLICK
I like the styling of the JCW models but not so sure on the others with the body colour section within the grille, reminds of a VW Up we had. Always liked the rebel green, especially with a red roof. It shouldn't work but it so does. Anyone else notice the swirl marks on the convertible in the car vlogger video? I'd lose sleep with those!
Anyone wanting to play about spec’ it a LCI the configuration is live on mini.de
On Android Auto, I sent MINI a DM on Twitter.
Immediate reply saying no plans to include AA.
A real mistake for me as almost every other manufacturer includes AA and Carplay.
Enough for me to look beyond MINI when I change car next year.
I wrote a fairly negative knee-jerk reaction of a post on the new car(s) after seeing some slightly worrying pictures, but I binned it because I was being negative and basically a bit of an old dinosaur.
There are still a few things I’m not sure about, for example I think the squared off section at the edge of the rear valance behind the arches is awkward, especially on the 5 Door, the ‘non-Sport’ rear section around the exhaust of the ‘S’ is pretty bland and I’m not sure the body colour section in the front grille is great. Oh, I miss the front fogs too!
BUT... I checked more pics and then went on the German site’s configurator (ours is typically lagging like a big 80s turbo), I specced an S Sport in Island Blue/Black and I’m a much happier MINI Person. I think it looks pretty damn good. So there you have it, I didn’t go with my initial reaction, I took a step back, had a think and changed my mind. Who says an old dog can’t change his spots and you can’t teach a leopard new tricks? Stay Safe everybody.
It won’t be for everyone, but sometimes these changes take a bit of getting used to, I know I was like most and wasn’t a huge fan of the F56 when it was first launched but I now love it. Pleased that you’ve came round to the new look Elfman and I’m sure you’ll like it even more when we all see one in the flesh.
Yes, it’s often a bit of a shock when you’re not expecting it! I’m a bit out of the MINI Loop these days, but had been mucking around on the LC1 configurator on & off for months, so when it changed the other day it threw me a proper curve ball! As I said, the original pics I saw didn’t really do the new car any favours, but a bit of further investigation calmed me down.
I haven’t been out & about in the ELFmobile for weeks due to Lockdowns & crappy weather, so I’m looking forward to giving it a blast. But I do fancy that Island Blue in Sport spec... or Pepper White... or Chilli Red. Definitely Black Roof though!
I like the look of that. Reminds me slightly of the previous ELFmobile
Yes, my first two ‘New’ MINIs were indeed Indi Blue/Black, so if I ever take the plunge again it might be nice to ‘reconnect’ with a modern interpretation of those cracking cars although I’m obviously still a big Pepper White fan! On the styling of the new cars, as Alasdair previously mentioned, for me it’s very dependent on spec. I think it looks great in Sport & JCW guise, but I’m much less convinced with the other models, particularly with the smaller wheels and without the Sport bodykit. There’s just something a bit bland and awkward about them, but that’s just my preference. Each to their own!
I’d just like to add that I think Specification & Wheel Size etc have become more important with each iteration of the MINI. The Gen 1 arguably looked cute and stylish in any spec, but as the hatchback body style has evolved and grown in overall size and door count, the choice of wheels, F&R bodykit profiles etc have had a fairly dramatic effect on the overall ‘cohesiveness’ of the package. In my opinion this is most evident in the latest model.
Is it just me, or is the U.K. Mini website lagging way behind the German one? I can configure cars on theirs but ours is just still basic info and I couldn’t spot a ‘Sport’ option anywhere. What’s going on?
The Uk Configurator is up and running Euan CLICK HERE
Thanks William! Got it now. Don’t know why I seemed to be getting an info only version of the website rather than the usual configurator. Not selling the ELFmobile, just keeping myself up to date on future options!
Seen my first LCI2 today in Moonwalk Grey. Absolutely stunning, the pictures do it no justice.
Looking forward to seeing one, I think the ‘Sport’ versions look well smart. I particularly like the Piano Black exterior detailing. I still like my chrome, as it was a connection with the original Mini, but I have to say it was looking a wee bit dated for 2021. The infamous Beltline seems to have avoided the update though! I’ve heard it’s now an option to have it in Piano Black?
Cheers William, looking good!
