Farecla G3 Body Prep Clay Mitt

Was in Halfords at the weekend picking up some car shampoo and noticed the G3 Product range. Has anyone tried or have any feedback on the Body Prep Clay Mitt. It seems to get some good reviews on Halfords website.

I know the Detailer products got a good review on some of the VW forums.

It looks like a far simpler/easier way in claying a car than traditional more time consuming way. Just not sure if it would be as effective.

I resisted buying at the weekend but might be tempted in trying it out.

Anyone any feedback?

I used the chemical guys clay MIT it seems to work but I will be sticking to my clay bar tbh

I personally love the Meguiars blue clay from the pro range.
Its a huge bar and can be cut up to do many cars.

I've used the new Autosmart Clay Cloth but I've not used the G3 clay mitt but I reckon it's the same idea. I would say that they are quite aggressive til the rough edges are taken off the cloth/mitt. Much quicker for doing a car once bed in

I've not used the G3 mitt yet but reading reports it's certainly an easy way to clay the full car. I'm like Craig and have used the Autosmart clay cloth which is just as easy to use as a clay bar but like Craig says you need to carry out a few simple things to start with ..
I think the mitt will be the same don't be scared of it and value for money you'll not go wrong depending how often you're planning on using it.
The mitt and cloth can both be washed if dropped ...

Bought one of the clay mitts at MITP on the advice of Craig and Davie ,just never had the time to use it yet :frown:

I always use a white Meguirs clay bar and know what that looks like and I also know what a wash mitt looks like as I use a couple of these too to wash my car BUT trying to picture what a clay mitt would look like and it does not compute in my head :scratch: or am I the only one :confused:

Clay mitts certainly have their place in the detailing arsenal but even the ones classed as soft are pretty aggressive. IMO you should always follow up any clay bar treatment with some form of polishing. I only use these style of clay mitts when following with a more intense correction.

The best method I find is to blanket the car in foam and use like a wash mitt, rinsing regularly. Acoustics are key in comprehensive removal. Keep making light passes until the gritty noise has disappeared.

I feel they come undone on tar though so I would advise chemically removing as much as possible beforehand.

I used one of the G3 mitts a while ago on the Street Ka which has not moved an inch since April 2012 and not been washed for about 18 months.
I used the mitt with Glossworkz shampoo.
It took me 1h 40m to get the results below.
Foam, wash with mitt, rinse then a dry.

It could be worse... Rachael has a White car, which was almost like a sh*tey white :lol: but I washed it and used my clay mitt and it's back whiter than ever :thumbs up:

That sh*tty colour gets about :bigwave:
