Hi, Please add us in to arrive on the day if thats still ok William? Many Thanks
Sooo.. I’ve had the green light to head down on the Sunday :woohoo:
It’s a blooming 3.5 hr drive so I’ll have to set off for about 4:45 to get their for just after 8..
Would I meet up with you guys at the hotel your staying at or somewhere else before heading to the Hall?
I can set off earlier to meet you all if need be..
Great news Alan. You can either meet us at the hotel or at show ground itself. We usually leave to head into the show about 745 8ish I’m sure but I’ll double check that
I’ll plan out my journey on the week leading up to it. No point doing it the now as their may be road works etc by then adding time to my trip.
I’d prefer to drive in with you all; but like a said I’ll see what’s what closer to the date.
No worries at all
I did it last year, was about 3 hours from mine and I stopped for petrol before going in. Arrived at the show not long after 9 from memory, sailed straight in because most of the groups where already in and the stand was still be sorted anyway so I didn't miss anything. I'd go direct to the show and give yourself some more sleep.
Yea I've driven down on the day a few times. Should not be any hold ups at that time in the morning

The drive down should be fairly easy. And as mentioned, quiet at that time in the morning. I drove down to Raby Castle in Darlington in a car with no cruise control last year for the Italian car show.. That was around 3 hours.
I've heard back now from nearly everyone regarding vehicle registrations and booking confirmations.
There are however one or two that I'm still waiting on. I've sent a PM to those still on the list. :thumbs up:
Hi folks,
Unfortunately I've had a change of plans, and I'm not going to make it to this years Mega Meet.
No worries Sam
Great news. Really looking forward to it
Can I join you guys?Im a newbie and this will be my first mini meeting.
Of course you can. I’ve also responded to your PM
Just planning ahead for next weekend...
All going to plan, we should be good to bring down our Karcher pressure washer with an extension cable and a bit of hose.
Can't quite remember what fixtures and fittings were available at the hotel last time but we should be able to make things work. :yes nod:
If anyone has a really, really long extension cable... that might be handy. We'll bring our just in case but a longer one might be useful.
We'll also bring some general car cleaning stuff - snow foam, car shampoo etc. If anyone wants to bring any specific things or extra things please do so.
Perfect Ali. I’ll pack an extension cable. I’ll get details posted for meeting on Saturday posted later
For those wanting to convoy down the the Marriott Hotel we’ll meet at 10:00 at Abington Services (ML12 6RG) to leave at around 10:30. This should allow us to get down for around 2pm and give us plenty time for any potential hold ups on the way. We can then get the cars washed for the following day, some refreshments, dinner and a good chat and laugh.
Entry to Lytham Hall for show cars opens at 8. We usually head in for 8:30ish this allows us to get breakfast before hand and then head in and get our pitch set up and cars final touches down for the day. Don’t worry if your travelling down on the day, there’s plenty of us that’ll help you get your car washed and ready, these is taps on site. The postcode for Lytham Hall is FY8 4JX
Looks like there's a stretch of the M6 that's closed before we turn off...assume there'll be a diversion but worth noting. Especially for those coming down on the day - between junction 22 and 23 apparently.
I'll bring my buckets and cleaning stuff. Looking forward to it!
Yeah the stretch that is shut is just before where we'd turn off, but the diversion that's in place will take us nearly past the door of the hotel anyway, just means that final 10 miles or so to the hotel on the diversion could be slow. As there'll be no chance for folk to catch up, or for the group to stop and re-group, I would suggest anyone who has a sat nav has it set for that part of the trip at least so we can all find our way to the hotel.
Hi, just spent the weekend at the Preston Marriott with the Jaguar at 100 event in Blackpool. Hotel was fine, excellent breakfast and food generally good overall. Rooms are small, and tired. Staff were attentive and responsive, except for assistance with car cleaning area so you need to be self sufficient.
There is an outside tap with a short hose around the back, near the Leisure Centre, but the closest hard standing / tarmac area for parking is at least 30 feet away, so that would be the minimum length of hosepipe required to go from the tap to the hard standing, plus a bit more to get around the cars. The connection is, I think, a standard Gardena hose push on pull off - could always swap your hose for the existing short length - screwdriver on the Jubilee clip required. Might be able to pick-up electrical power from the Leisure Centre adjacent to the hard standing so super long extension cable not truly required.

Hi guys
We are going to head down a bit later on the Saturday. Got kids stuff to sort out first.

No worries Rob
Good news on the planned closure of the M6, that was going to affect us:
https://nationalhighways.co.uk/artic...sty-the-queen/Quote:
Additionally, all other closures on the motorway network nationally will be postponed for the duration of the extended bank holiday weekend. Existing roadworks will also be removed where possible, with cones and temporary signals withdrawn from 6am on Friday 16 September and not put back in place until Tuesday 20 September.
A planned closure of the southbound M6 between junctions 33 and 32 north of Preston will be among the roadworks postponed this weekend.
That’s brilliant news
If I book the preston hotel do I get space with you guys in the parking lot?
Unfortunately not going to make this weekend something has cropped up I need to stay and deal with,

Cracking pics Andrew:yes nod:
Great weekend. Good drive south, conversation, food and show. And I think we had more sunshine than rain. Just. Also, managed to stay up until the ungodly hour of 10pm on Sat night.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along to this year rather wet Mega MINI Meet, another great show despite the rather wet weather but we didn’t let it dampen our spirit. A cracking night at the hotel and day at the show filled with great people and the laughs that come with it. At these shows it really just goes to show that it’s the people that make it. Everyone’s car where a credit to both the club and yourself.
Congratulations to Mersey MINI Club for their best club stand.
Here are some pictures I’ve taken from my phone just now, will get a look through the ones I took on my camera later on.
