I'm not disagreeing with you William, but it's not my money or your money being wasted... I didn't want the current design but the decision was Alan's to make as its his site. We have to respect his decision

More than happy for folks to suggest a new logo.
I replied to Greig saying that it was difficult to utilise his creation due to the colour, if we want to keep the black theme going then it has to be darker.
I can change the colour scheme to suit any type of logo that is preferred
With regards to the stickers, not worried if we have to ditch them.
So, it's creation time again :thumbs up:
Thanks very much for that Alan. Appreciate it :)
Once we have a design I know of a local co to me that could do the clothing for us unless you have a preferred supplier? I'm happy to look after it.

Just my 2p's worth but I'm more than aware who's money goes into the site and I appreciate it along with I'm sure the vast majority of NMS. I was more than happy to contribute to the site when site subscriptions were being spoken about.
I just feel that I've we are going down the road of a new logo then why not try and get something that can be used for a multitude of uses, instead of what is frankly a tad dull sticker that doesn't attract much attention. Another idea would be for people to have the choice of a logo sticker or the www. Sticker this then saves wasting these already produced stickers.
This is all a bit heaven handed for a new logo that looks like Alan is happy to have as a sticker
You've obviously taken something I've said wrong William.
I agree with everything your saying !!
Step back and take a breath man
So, who's good with designing cos I ain't. ? Be good to get some designs soon so that we can get this rolling before the end of the year. Agree that having 2 sticker designs gives people a choice. I think tho once the current ones are finished we would not replace them.. :)

Lets get some ideas up then folks.

Like the second one :)

Some fantastic ideas Grieg I like the first ... What about incorporating new mini Scotland around the outside of the saltire or lines of the mini logo to try and keep the MINI badge as neat as possible ... Just a thought but excellent work ! ;)
Sort of like that but outside the saltire circle ... between that and the MINI wings
Or
What about the shape of a thistle with the saltire as the middle then in one leaf New, next MINI, Scotland and so on ...
Make the S of Scotland like the red S in Cooper S
I like the middle of the three thistle ones Greig ... Excellent ideas and graphics, how about making the word New be the head of the thistle rather than having it through the top ..
At 8000rpm no-one hears you scream !
The top version looks best, however I think the word NEW has to be in a contrasting colour to ensure it stands out.
Overall, the designs are very good, however careful consideration has to be made about the base colour, as once you start reducing the logo for merchandise, the individual text colours that appear clear on the computer screen may not be as distinctive on fabrics for example.
Any logo works best when it's quickly and easily identifiable as to what its supposed to represent, especially to people unfamiliar with the group, product etc.
We need a logo that works without text - some kind of thistle/mini badge hybrid maybe?
I would have a bash, but my graphics skills extend no further than MS Paint.
Offshore today folks I will try more simple ideas when I get back, that is if no one else runs with these or any other ideas they have.

Something like this possible. Not great I know
"Any logo works best when it's quickly and easily identifiable as to what its supposed to represent, especially to people unfamiliar with the group, product etc"
Agree with the above. We should also bear in mind that it costs more to produce, when embroidered, the more colours you use. to me, simplicity works.
With regards to the new logo, I would like to say that there is some good ideas being put forward but would agree with the above post as you have to watch what you put on your logo for either printing and having clothing embroidered, keep it simple as less is more...
As for the NEW MINI SCOTLAND that Alan uses at the moment on the top of the web page, it says it all... :thumbs up:
William, your design I quite like, says what it means and is easily identifiable... :thumbs up: ...I would try it with Scotland spaced out the full length of the Mini, as my son who is doing his final year in graphic design said it might look better and he also states, Less is more in a logo... A logo needs to says with one look what it stands for... :yes nod:

My words exactly Malcolm, the more you put on a design the dearer it is to produce, either in printing or embroidering it...
Do we need two types of logo?
What Greig has produced are excellent graphics and we probably need that type of logo for on screen / photographic use. But as a lot of the merchandise will be embroidered, we probably need a simplified version of whatever we choose. I ain't any good at producing graphics, but here is an attempt on a simplified version, if someone else could produce a graphic version on similar lines. By the way, do we have any potential issue with "copyright" if we plagiarise the BMW logo?

Must say I like the car outline ones. Trying to get a balance on the text is another thing altogether, either it looks to busy or too plain. :idunno: well everyone else was having a play so why not  and sod it if anyone needs the WWW.:moonie:
Love it Stew :thumbs up:
Like it as well, but think the "Co.Uk." needs to be smaller than the "New Mini Scotland " part. Could the "QR code thing" be included in a "rear wheel" and the Co.uk. be fitted in the middle? Just a thought.
See now to me that is too busy! I liked the Big .Co.UK as it shouted out “ this is a web site” as once you see the .co.uk your inclined to think right it’s a web site but what is it…….and in the last one the MINi badge goes :sad:and I'm a sucker for the MINI badge:smilewinkgrin: Just spitballing all the same.

I like it, but from a distance it just looks like mini.co.uk - think the NMS part needs to be more obvious.
And I still want the S like the Cooper S badge :p

(Don't know how to make it bigger on here)
Here is my 2p's worth. I don't think it needs the Mini logo in it, after all, the outline of the car tells you what it is.
^^ we have a winner...

I think that the scan square would be better placed elsewhere????
Edit: Not so sure we need the saltire mirror caps???
Agree with Alan. I think without the saltire mirror cap the design is very clear and concise
www.lodgeonthecaley.com
Perhaps put the scan square where the fuel cap would be and lower the text?
