Well the snow has been on solid all afternoon here, and out at my inlaws, the snow is just past the door handles of their Fiesta...it's just insane.
Cripes and I thought we had it bad with 2ft. It looks set to break for a few days at least around Sunday depending on location.

I hate the stuff with a passion, sorry but I don't do snow one iota.
Makes my job ten times harder and the stress levels in some folk go off the scale.
My drivers can have a helluva time, stuck out on the road for a couple of days, not to mention the risks involved driving units & trailers in white outs.
Oh and Alfie (my Westie) canny get enough of it, seriously thinking of getting him one of those flashing collars as I canny see him half the the time lol
Snow lying on salty shoreline and harbour at my work.
Not often that hapens...

local shop keepers are TWATS end off.......... our guys are working 24 hours to get the finished milk out to local shops and also the supermarkets, you have to remember the tankers have to get into the farms first to get the RAW milk, the farmers have to work 24 hours to keep their roads clear.... driving a tanker down a farm road with a moving load is not easy.
pictures taken today from my back garden

Have to confess family originate from your neck of the woods so am fairly familiar with some of the landmarks. My great grandfather drove the first motorised vehicle into Penan and if I mention my Granny's maiden name was West I guess you wont need many guesses to identify the north-east village she originated from!!
Some recent pics from the last week or so

How sad is it when the highlight of the day is when a snow plough comes up your street. What a frikking week!!!!
Like most, Winter 2010-11 for us started overnight from Friday to Saturday. Woke up to about 6". Lots of snow on the ground too. Sorry, couldn't resist. We thought, OK, if this is it that's not too bad. But we've then had another 4 to 6"'s every night since then. We're now on our 6th day of this cr@p and we're fed up of it. Keep clearing the drive only to wake up and find another 6"'s of snow on the ground and that takes another 2 hours to clear. Seems like we've spent all week clearing our own drive, Lenore's folks drive, my own folks drive or our neighbours drive.
Anyway, enough ranting.... Some pics for your visual entertainment. Taken on the cusp of dusk (I'm a poet and didn't even know it) so they may look a bit dark.

Clearing my Mum and Dad's drive. It wasn't so much digging them OUT, it was more that we had to dig to get TO them. At one point I shouted across the garden to see if either of them spoke Chilean. They don't.
Taken with my iPhone.

Stunning piccies again folks, again, glad i aint there to see it for real
The weather system has changed so its coming from the west and I hope it brings rain. After a week of the car up the drive and yes it looks fantastic but getting bored with it now.
like the pic all the same.
Its been snowing ever since took the photos, the road is now 3in deep. Don't you just love winter ;)
Thats the thing with this weather just now. As soon as you get the driveway cleared, get back in the house, your boots off and you get sat down.... Look out the window and all your hard work has been undone by the next fall of snow.:argh::argh::argh::argh::argh:
I actually like the cold of winter, and I like a wee bit of snow, just to turn the fields a bit white etc, but this.... this is too much.:argh::argh::argh::argh:
I just wanna emigrate to Florida.:frown:
A.:frown:
Florida now that's a place that sends shivers down my spine.........
Snakes! <shiver>
Ok, i feel a little left out, so, here's my seasonal picture, sorry about the focus, but, the house is about 100 yards away
Not my house by the way.................................. yet

Woo hoo! No snow overnight. First night for SEVEN nights it hasn't dumped 4 to 6 inches overnight. It looks a bit chilly out there but at least we don't need to dig the car out to get anywhere.
A.:thumbs up:
We've only had a couple of inches as well, started digging out the motorhome as I'm worried about the weight of snow on the roof
Got to work again today... :frown: that's 5 days on the trot! It was -9 this morning whilst leaving the house....
I got stuck last night on a side road mostly cos I was trying to get back to a girl who had slid into a snow bank and was stuck. It got stuck because of beaching, prob cos if it being lowered
