I'm suitably impressed  both with the time and the fuel drunk on the way.

Gordon, any idea on how many NMS cars are down? It'd be a shame not to get more cars from the central belt.
No idea tbh, I'll try and find out but prob have a better idea looking on here

I am doing for going, trying to get my mate involved as well.

Mind anyone travelling a distance who wants to wash their car before the show is welcome to pop in past me - I'm about 100 yards from the museum

Just checked with my insurance company and it’s a no go for the track [emoji2959]

As mentioned above, due to my slightly crap organising I'm running the Aberdeen 10k in the morning so I'm going to be dropping my car off before 9, and I'll be back about half 1 at a guess. See you all then.
Anyone wanting to use my driveway & products to wash their car, they're still more than welcome to. I'm leaving the house at 9am to head into Aberdeen, as long as you're here before then I'll leave you with my garage plipper and you can crack on. I'll get the plipper back off you early afternoon. I can setup power washers, snow foam etc for you coming.
Anyone wanting to do this, drop me a PM and I'l give you my address and phone number.
Anyone going up from Hamilton area? What time are you leaving on Sunday? It’s my first trip and like to travel up with somebody?

Dang! Anyone else who are local??

Think I am just driving straight up from Edinburgh, not sure what time I am leaving as yet
Davy
What time are you aiming for the services in Perth?

Have a good day folks. Sorry I can’t be there but I’m down south on holiday.
That's my car dropped off, see you all at lunchtime.
Wear suncream, it's roasting already [emoji41]

I really enjoyed today, I left home and discovered the A93 was only 10 mins longer than the a90 and there's no speed cameras it was a no brainer. So I went that way in both directions, love that road!! The show itself was well organised and a nice relaxed day, it wasn't perfect but it was a nice day and heard comments that it was better than the MINI at Home show.
Well it was nice having a show less than 3 hours from home for a change. With Ali, Laura and Arwen coming up yesterday we made a weekend of it and went for an Indian after Ali had tasted just about every delicacy that was on offer on the way to the restaurant.
The show itself was well attended, well organised and there plenty to see. As Ali mentioned it was heavily biased toward the classics especially in the parade where there was a good selection of modern minis and not one of them was pulled over for an owner interview. It was good to see the shear variety of minis that there was I dare say I didn't notice any 2 that were identical.

Sounds like a great day
Good to finally put some faces to names today!
I was chatting to Mark just before we left, and we both agreed we need to try and organise some runs in the NE area if possible. If nothing else, it gives me an excuse to use my car more!
Will check the calendar and have a think

Fantastic day well worth the 7 hour round trip to get there.
As said it did tend to focus more on the classic Mini but nice selection of Modern Minis on show as well, the comperes were ok but felt the sound good have been better.
I found my driving road on the way back the B744 what a cracking road, on the way up I was taking it easy but wow nice clear day on way back and wow.

Had a lovely day today. Good turn out, nice food and lovely weather and was nice to hang out with Mark, Eddie and Davie (Ali and Arwen too obvs). I have to admit it was quite cool that Charlie was chosen for an interview. Here is the video of the parade lap for all the cars that were interviewed.

Brilliant photos Davy
I've been away on a MINI jolly this past week (more later), so only just back on....
Well worth the 5 minute trek for me, road run before the show was fun, and Mark and Kris following on behind looked great in the mirrors. Good effort to the other NMS'ers who made the run up.
The classic bias continued in the feature in the motoring supplement of the P&J on Wednesday, only the John Clark cars pictured in the Italian Job scene. I had kinda hoped in the parade lap that as the only R55 there I might get a quick chat, but denied :hand:
Nice pic Alasdair btw, that's Marischal College, 2nd largest granite building in the world. :thumbs up:
Dont worry the Meeks got a full guided tour of central aberdeen thanks to my friend. Hahaha
Yeah I was a bit miffed at how classic centric it was even to the point of the classic owners downing to late built "real minis". The road run views were nice but imo the speed was just too low. I wasnt expecting the classics to be flat out but the speed limit would have at least been nice. The fact we were actually holding up a tractor says something about the pace.

I thought even the wording in the letter we received with our passes was pointed towards the classics something along the lines of BL, Austin, Rover and the modern mini.....
Davy
The Trustee who organised this is a classic owner, so it was always going to be biased towards them but even so, I agree with the comments on here about how we were maybe overlooked a bit.
At the AGM last week, someone from the Aberdeen Mini group suggested to me we make this a yearly event. Any thoughts on this, would folk be up for it? What improvements (ignoring the classic bias lol) would make it a yearly hit?
