So, i take it when all the rest of you crash your cars the shell will disintegrate :p:I:p
looking Good Gordy! :D
Actually BS:approve: they take a fair bit of abuse before they are completely knackered :D They just get very second hand looking thats all ie paintwork starts to flake and the stickers fall off:(If you really hit things hard they tend to crack or split :p:D:approve:
Seeing as the 'S' shell didn't arrive at the weekend I decided to paint up one of the cooper shells to replicate 'MUTLEY':D What do you think:question: Not the right wheels I know there more like the R92's that I know are on WillieM's mowta

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm picture seems a bit small:I How do I make it bigger <bearing in mind I've just worked out how to put pictures on in the first place:p> :p:D:approve:
Hopefully it'll still be on your camera :I when you save it to your computer make sure it's 500 pixels wide by resizing it in your photo edit software, then upload it again to your web site.
Or, simply resize it as it is and upload again
Looks like it's a thumbnail pic at the moment
hmm, why won't my pics work?
here's the link if any of you guys know how to do it :blackeye:

Gordy, you have linked to the thumbnail on your site - you need to link to the bigger image
Now Ross' links have disappeared:eek: What's going on....:question::evil: :p:D:approve:
Oooooooops:I:D There back now :p:D:approve:
I'm trying to sort it out, now, the problem we have is that the images are stored on the web site that have to be navigated too.Quote:

I know what i mean but i can't explain it.
The way the images are stored it will not work on this particular site to reveal the piccie
If you look at the url address it asks for "getuserimage" that is the part that causes the grief :I Is there any other way of getting to the picture without going through your username
If you enter the link to the larger picture it comes up with a warning saying that area of the tamiya site is down for two hours due to maintenance. I think that is the problem
but if you look at the thumbnail that Gordy posted he usedQuote:

in img tags
If you enter this in explorer it goes straight to the thumbnail. 1442 is the username I suspect. If however you change the above link to another one of the images in an explorer window it says that part of the site is down for maintenance.
Why the edit Bonnie, it made more sense laid out on the page, IMHO - made it easier for Gordy to see what to do
It works ok for me, it's the fact you have to navigate through the Tamiya web site via the user name etc, there must be a way to get there without the user nameQuote:

See above, I dont mean it doesnt work from ross's links - I mean it doesnt work when you build the link up using Gordys method - except on the thumbnailsQuote:

Yes, but, if you see the address it also has tc at the start which is different to the ones Ross linked toQuote:

ok, see what you are saying

but seems odd that I can link to the thumbnails with no problem
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh hhh...........
Wish I hadn't bothered now :(;) All seem a bit complicated to me:I :p:D:approve:
The mini looks good though Gordy - why the sticky up thingys though? ;)
See that's what i meant :p;)
:p, the tamiya site will only let you link to the small (_75) and medium (_350) images and not the full size one, I assume this is done to protect their bandwidth.Quote:

looks like the real deal :D:D
Quite correct, just ask MMM about bandwidthQuote:

"why the sticky up thingys though?"
They are what hold the body on:evil: You can trim them back to nearer the body if you want:approve: Its up to you :) :p:D:approve:
Hmmm. It's odd that they put so much effort into the thing looking so good (and it does look excellent) and yet have such a clumsy looking mechanism to hold the body on. Why they do dat G man?
<moves into equivalent Wul polishing mode> Wellllllllll:D its all to do with the fact that more than one model/make of body is able to fit every chassis:approve: Some, like the mini, have to have longer rear posts to reach the roof whereas a bodyshell with a boot/hatchback has a shorter distance to travel to get to the body (if you know what I mean;)) It also allows you to vary the body height:D between 'off roader' or 'slammed'. If you're never going to fit another body (you listening BS;)) you can trim them right back nearly to the roof :p:D:approve:
How come they don't just have a lip on the underside of the body that the chassis can clip onto?
Hey Gordy, speaking of polish - do you think my porter cable polisher might be a bit on the big side to polish my RC MINI? :p:D
I ain't ever gonna fit another body (you listening Big G Man)
Alan - are you talkin about the RC car here?:p;)Quote:

OK,OK I'm listening BS8)Your's will be trimmed right back;)
Big C - how would you get in to the lip to fasten it.... Tamiya have been making these thing for over 40 years now:approve: I think if there was a better way of doing it they would have found it by now. Remember these things will do about 25mph :D so they need to be securely mounted <especially when you hit something:clown:> :p:D:approve:
Remember Wul the paint is on the inside:approve: So you'll just be polishing clear lexian plastic so don't use anything to abrasive;) :p:D:approve:
I'll take your advice though Big G, i don't want to be too hasty :pQuote:

Well you did say you were getting a Dremmel for Christmas so you could always 'chop them off' at your leasure <stands back and waits for inuendoes to start flying:D> :p:D:approve:
So, is there any way to replicate the number plates  i think that would be the finishing touch
Tip-ex and a thin black pen!!! :D
Seriously though. Would one of those wee thin label makers not do? We have one of them here in work.
