diff petrol cap?

Didnt have a clue that the Cooper petrol cap could be different!

You will be able to change it over, I’m unsure of how difficult it’ll be on a F56 but it was a fairly common and easy thing to change on R50 and R56 cars

yeah noticed they have the part on ebay, but like you say, only seems to be for the R models
