2007 Mini Cooper S - radio reception

Hello.

The radio reception on our 2007 Mini Cooper S is awful.

We have owned the car for just under 2 years and it was poor when we bought it.

I would like to get it sorted but don’t want to throw lots of cash at it given the age / value of the car.

Does anyone have any idea what the issue is?

I was going to take it to a car audio specialist but I’m struggling to find one so would appreciate any recommendations.

I stay in Renfrewshire but would be happy to take it anywhere within 30 mins drive.

Appreciate any advice.

Have you tried moving the aerial around - sounds like your aerial may have a loose connection or a bad earth. First try the moving around whilst you have the radio on and listening before getting any deeper.

Have you tried to replace the aerial or checked it for damage?

I haven’t tried that although I did have a brief look at the aerial and it appears to be in good condition.

I might buy a cheap one off eBay as I read elsewhere that this worked.
