Indicator Query

I noticed something the other night whilst waiting for Mr in a shop.

With the engine off, left indicator turns on side light and brake light
right indicator turns on side light and brake light.

flash (pull towards) the Xenon's come on and stay on until ignition key turned.

Is this a self test thingydoofer dangle or have I just got a freaky 'S'? :confused:

That's how you activate parking lights depending which side of road you are parked on. Pulling stalk forward activates the 'get me home lights' that light up your driveway till you get to the house then switch off automatically.
