40MPG!!!!!

I am lucky to get 30MPG - I do mostly in town driving, I think my best tank was about 31MPG ( U.S. gallons ). And that was all highway driving ( high speed though :D )

I got down to around 18 on the manky thrash ;) but around 34 going down to Mike's in Liverpool :)
To get 47.8 you must have been going downhill with the wind behind you and no throttle ;):p

Also - try comparing the Trip Computer to actual (ie miles over amount of fuel at the next fill up) because on my S the computer used to say 27mpg but the reality was 23!!

I got average of 51.3 mpg in my 05 cooper with the JCW sound kit fitted. I filled the car up in Peebles and zero'd all the trip computer whilst in the petrol station. When I got to work at St Boswells, about 28 miles away the average was 51.3mpg. I did have to stop at roundabouts and things. I wasnt driving like a granny but I wasnt going fast. I was just trying to see how good I could get the average fuel. If I didnt slow down at corners and maintained 55-60mph it was quite easy.
Normally I average about 41mpg

Fuel economy can vary massively depending on driving speeds, style and weather conditions. In my current car I've seen highs of 40.1mpg (50mph A1M) and lows of 13mpg (thrashing through country lanes).

The trip computer always reads better MPG then I actually get:mad: Sometimes up to 5MPG better then the "real" MPG.
