Diesel Mini Cooper

The name change from “One Diesel” to “Cooper Diesel” alone should give you a hint at how MINI intends this new car to up the diesel performance ante. The newly redesigned Car Magazine has the latest on what to expect:

Thats a fair difference on old and new bhp :approve: Bet it will have a crackin mpg if it has the six speed box as well :approve::approve::D;)

Makes a lot of sense. Hot Hatches are going down the diesel route more often now.

Look at the Skoda Fabia RS for example, it's a diesel and meant to be a cracking car!

the more I hear the more I like it :D And if it's only £500 more than the petrol Cooper then it's a bargain too!
I quite like the idea of a diesel Cooper Traveller as well

I've never quite got why manufacturers charge so much more for diesels.

Surely it costs less to manufacture a tractor engine than a sweet, high-revving, variable valve timing petrol engine :p

Its pretty much the same engine as in the Focus 1.6TDCi that I persuaded my Mum to get, and its a cracker, great fun to drive and quick... I presume the Mini is lighter than a Focus too?

Yup. Read a group test of the New Cooper S, Clio sports thingy (197?), Golf GTi and Focus ST.
The Mini was the lightest of them all (and won the test of course :D)

Must admit I like everything about the Fabia vRS except it's looks (don't mind the Skoda badge)
