Anyone know what this looks like? I know it's not available until next year, but will it be a metallic red or a solid colour?

Rover used to do a colour called nightfire red and it looks almost the same. You still see it being used on freelanders.

Cheers everyone.

It looks ok. But I was hoping for more of a Chilli Red in metallic look. Nightfire looks to be a bit darker than I'd like.

I agree Andy, MINI nightfire red looks a bit dark compared to Chilli red but when seen on a whole car dark reds can look much nicer.
It is a fine line between boring maroon and a nice dark metallic red.
I think the new Mini Seven looks superb in it's dark red.

Nightfire red was available on the 90s classic Mini's and looked excellent (but is quite rare) . The Mini 30 special edition was Cherry red which IMO was not as nice a colour

There was a dark red available at first on new Minis, Velvet red I think it was. But it did look a bit maroon to me. I hope nightfire looks better when seen on the whole car - I rather like it.

Yer, that's the one. there's still a couple in that colour goign around Dundee. It's a real nice colour (especially in the sun), but only if the whole car is Velvet Red. Black or white roof makes it look awful!

As near as you will get Andy ,without seeing the " real thing ",the guy who did this copied the colour swatch and added it to the R56 model...it does look good ?

See that is a very nice colour. But. Lenore keeps reminding me it's only available on the Cooper, not the S.:(

I think the BMW nightfire red (NFR from now on!) is totally different from the Rover NFR going by what I've seen so far. :)
