What percentage of people on here have private/cherised plates on their Minis?
I got one on mine (which is for sale if neone wants it) already got new reg to go on it.

Considered L2 LNP for the Mini but went with L3 NLP and I cant remember why.:I:I:I
L10RNA was available when we bought L2 NLP back in 1986 went with NLP because Lorna didn't want me driving on my own with LORNA on the plate.:I:IRegret it now because its worth a feckin fortune.

Glad I'm not alone with matching plates..
K5 SSG currently on the Mini because that was what was left on it.
My plate since my 30th Birthday was M3 0BN - kept getting pulled when it was spaced M30 BN
New plate for the Mini is R5 BJN, which goes with my bikes R6 BJN, BJN being my initials

I don't have one but the plate we got with our Golf is a good match for me & my wife. I would think about getting a cheap one from DVLA in the future.
I have to say though my pet hate is people who play around with spacing, letter shapes or strategically placed screws.
I saw one numpty yesterday whose plate was N111 A** who had spaced it and placed a BIG screw to make it read N1NA **. Took me a while to work out what the plate really should have been - that's why the police "should" clamp down on this sort of thing!!!

I'm with you LnL, dont get the whole thing, some of you guys are having a laugh. how people find some meaning in a row of random numbers is beyond me.
If I could get a plate that said PADDY, then maybe but a plate that says P4 IDI is just a row of random letters and numbers.;)

I got mine from DVLA for a very,very good price.
M2 XDS,which is as close as i can get to my Ham Radio call sign,2M0XDS, 2M0,which stands for an intermediate Scottish licence,with the suffix standing for Donald Suttie,the X is because i have no middle names

Ive had no trouble with DVLA as well, on both the plates that I bought from there .

I'm sure I had a post on this thread ?? Maybe not.
I would have GP 1536.Enquired about it the other day through the DVLA and they said it was an very old plate that has probally died with the car when it was scrapped.They say that it's not possible to buy it once it's dead. :(

Until they realise there's money to be made, keep you eye on the DVLA auctions site
That wont happen.
Imagine if in 10 years time that car was found in a barn and restored, then there would be a double issued number.
Unless you can find the car, and ISTR get it roadworthy, the numberplate will be not be transferred.

I've got one!! P19 EEY (piggy) I have a tattoo of piglet from winnie the poo on my foot and my plate has the same picture. I tried to get piglet but it had already gone!! I'm now wondering whether to call my little purple mobile Miss Piggy instead of Ronnie!!! Seems to be a bit more girly these days HEE HEE!!!

Ive no got a private plate yet but I do fancy one. My parents both have them, dad = NDS 3V and mum = NS 3269. I would like a good but cheap plate that is as close to Ian as possible. Doubt I will ever get King as I was told it was the dearest plate in history. My grandad does have K5NGS though, I may get that one day.

all bought as birthday presents from DVLA at a reasonable price, with no hassle.

My Dad has T123NER on a X type and I have T321NER (TRAYNER)
Were happy with them....and even happier about the price paid;)
We both think they don't look too private plate like so don't offend...and are enough to fool neds into thinking these are old cars..

got T1OOL on my mini, H1 CNT on a bike, B457ARO on a race cosworth, P1NES on a beer car, and about another 14 all car/bike & my name related, but prefer the funny ones, cheap to buy & can always sell em on when i need cash!
seen 911 OFF on black 911 turbo in aberdeen & GTF 1 is also on a aberdeen mini
if your after one that has not been issued ask the DVLA, it will appear at an auction in the future;)

I seen that car at the weekend. Sitting at the Raith Interchange in Hamilton. Noticed it because of the plate and thought it was a good one..

I have noticed that most minis on the road have private plates on them, very few are standard.

i've got S55 LSA on my cooper
Mum has S555 DLB on her mini one
and dad has S999 DLB on his jeep
the DLB stands for duncan and lorraine brown he tried to get S5 DLB for the jeep but coldnt lol
I wanted L15 AB but was told i was loved but not £25,000 worth cos i got my plate for my birthday lol
