Mini Launch Treasure Hunt - Sunday 19th November

Ok Folks, who wants to try and find the new MINI in the streets and back roads of Central Scotland... :question: :approve:

Meet at Menzies in Stirling @ 10:30hrs, Briefing @ 10:45hrs, first car away @ 11:00hrs. Cars will be staggered so no cheating! :eek::p:D

Clues will be given for various "sights" to be visted around Central Scotland and also some "treasure" to be collected. Points will be given for all the sights you visit and the treasure that you manage to collect.

There will be nice prizes provided by Menzies for the top 3 cars.:D

Each participant will get a Goody bag filled with MINI Bits n Bobs!

1st Car - £200 of MINI Accessory Vouchers
2nd Car - £100 of MINI Accessory Vouchers
3rd Car - £50 of MINI Accessory Vouchers



You should all be back at Menzies for about 13:30ish where some food and soft drinks will be laid on for you :approve::approve:.

After that if any of you are unable get to Menzies on the Friday for your Test Drive, Clare or Stuart will be more than happy to sort you out with a drive in one of the new cars. - email Menzies to book a slot please... :approve::approve: mail@menzies.mini-dealer.co.uk

I can confirm slightly more that I'll be there, as I've now rope'd in a pal after I told him ‘he was the navigator ~ complanice’ (ahh 80’s films :D)

Do we need a map of the local area...as when we got lost some years back & I asked John how he was navigating after noticing he had no map and was looking out the window ~ his answer simple ~ I've been navigating by the stars but I can't see them now :p

Thanks to all those that made it today.

Good to meet some new faces, Deerslayer(John), Jammer(James) and Derek K, and the "usual suspects" ;)

The weather was kind to us right up until it started to get dark....which was about when low_n_loud1 got back ;)

The Winners were....

1st - Fiona and Allan Thorne (in their SAAB! :eek:;):D)
2nd - Claire and Rab
3rd - Ian King and Sarah Munro

The competition was that good that 1st and 2nd place got all the treasure and the clues correct and had to be split by a tie break question..... what is CBS ? ? :approve:

Also 3rd place was tied by 3 cars and also went to a tie break that I nearly got the full question out, before Ian blurted out the answer... saddo!! ;) Well done Ian.

Lastly, HUGE THANKS to Menzies for all the prizes, food, drink, test drives and ofcourse on a day like today, underfloor heating.. :approve:

Hope you all enjoyed it and might get to see some of you at either of the meals in the next few weeks or on Crombers Xmas Cracker on the 29th Dec. :D

Craig , sorry I had to miss this one , but as Crombers would have told you ,I tried to call you this am as your/my mobile was goosed , turns out it mine in the end . Last nights snow here was lying fast and thick , "Herself" ...had a wee slip into a ditch on the counrty back roads that were untreated and thick with fresh snow ...moved over to let someone pass and slipped off the road ...and well and trully stuck....no real harm done except a red face in the end ...rear wheel drive and big tyres are not the best to be trying that . Hope you all had a good day out and enjoyed the test drives .

got to say great day. 1st place was well chuffed had no idea to the TB question as I didn't have me glasses with me but thanks to my other half Allan infact most of it was down to him I would still be out looking for question 2 you'd never guess I was born at Airthrey Castle.:I. Walking the canal looking for feathers was fun in the freezing wind.

Thanks to Menzies not just for today but the whole weekend Friday VIP night our test drives yesterday and washed all down today by the treasure hunt. Those burgers were yummy.

Not forgetting Craig Jude(Jelly Tots) and Markyc

Now what to spend my £200 on h'mm

and to end the day Claire tells me my mellow yellow is in transit.:D:D

Just want to say a HUGE BIG THANK YOU to all who helped make Sunday such a great day.

Rab and I had loads of fun on the treasure hunt...Rab was having a ball, getting a bit carried away at times, thought we were auditioning for a part in the next Italian Job the way he was driving :)

The hunt was great, sights were fab and coming back to a lovley spread went down a wee treat, thanks:D

The day was topped off by us coming 2nd in the hunt:D still not sure what to spend the pennies on as yet but I'm sure we'll have fun trying:)

It was nice meeting you again and we hope to see you all on another mini adventure soon!!

Thanks to all the organiser’s it was a fun weekend...ended up getting somewhat lost as navigator was reading the paper :D so ended up doing the last few clues backwards...so never spotted the mini parked up :(

What’s happening with the photo’s :question: as there’s potentially some classic ones taken, involving ~ tractors :) canal boats :p cannons :cool:and a couple of horses :eek:
