Hi All,:)
The wife has had her Mini One-D now for almost a week now & I find myself any excuse to go out so that I can borrow it for a spin, it's great.
I like it so much I am thinking of trading in my E46 318D sport(04) for a Mini one-D or Cooper, but she thinks I would regret it.
Ok, her mini is not as powerful as my (remapped)Beemer but thats not the be all & end all for me. I have always wanted one myself since they came out & my first car many moons ago was a 1965 mini so i have always had a soft spot for them.
As I am self employed & work from home it is my job to take & collect our girls from school each day but this seems not to bad in the mini with them getting in & out, ok, a lot easier in the saloon.
Veronica says I would regret swapping the Beemer for a mini & what would we do when we go on our hols? we would have two cars with no luggage space. I said we just hire a bigger car once or twice a year for when we go on hols around the uk:D
So, would it be mad to swap so we have a mini each or keep the 3 series & have best of both worlds?
Just can't decide:)

go for the cooper s for Power ;)
as for boot space... if you dont use your boot space alot, then just hire a car for your hols ;)

Tricky one.
Here's your answer; sell the kids and buy another Mini.

Selling the kids sounds a very good idea at times:D
If I went for a cooper S I don't think I could live with the fuel consumption & I am not sure what the cooper does on MPG so I think the one-D would be what I would go for, as I like my 50mpg +.
Out of interest, what does the cooper do on MPG?

Is that combined?
What about motorway driving & around town driving?
As I do a lot of motorway miles I would be interested on what the cooper does MPG on a long journey.
Also, to fuel my arguement with her in doors in swapping my car with regards to the no boot space, can you fit a roof box to a mini? Is there such a thing for the mini?
Cheers
Mike

Hmm, what a dilemma, i'm lucky i have the best of both worlds, an M3 and a Cooper S, but, for holidays you're really stuck.
if you're happy to hire a car for your hols then great, but, if not then you'll have to stick with your family car.
Having been in your place i'm glad we stuck with the beemer and the mini, 2 mini's is great fun, but the hassle of hiring cars would be annoying for me.
Good luck in whatever you decide

You can get a roof rack for a mini yes , the original one,the roof has to be drilled and the rack is fitted to pretapped holes I think .I did see another version wich requires no drilling on a web site though.
