i am going to change the oil on my cooper after reading posts on mini 2 but iam thinking about irriduim plugs will there be much of a differene in performance

Generally used for engines that have been upgraded and produce a lot more heat, not sure they work the best on a standard engine

Denso Iridium , are race type plugs and @ £25 or £30 a go ....+ new HT leads as well ,its a costly mod,for what ,as Alan said I'm not sure that its worth it on a standard road car .NGK do a cheaper version also at around £10

I fitted the Denso ones to my race car and did not notice any difference.

mines got bosch super 4's fitted.is that standard on the S?
