got my new alloys on the car,and had it out in the wet and it felt really slippy wheelspins and skidding on roundabouts,is this normal when movin up to 215/40/17 from 16s

it depend on the tyres you have on it

they are accelera tyres or sumfin.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I think that brand new tyres are a bit slippy for the first hundred miles or so.

i found a big wheel spin soon improved the grip of my run flats,you should have seen the smoke lol

yes they actually need a run in period as the stuff they coat the mould with to stop it sticking has to be worn off of the tyre ;)

that may be the answer the tyres may need ran in.they are non runflats

all new tyres need run in for 500minles before pushing or as rockwellcm said give em a good burn out!

tyre width also. The wider the tyre, the less grip in the rain/snow etc, assuming both tyres are similar. It's generally the opposite for dry conditions
