Yeah I think that's a shame. He was daft as a brush but he done a lot of good things for animals. Sad.

Steve Irwin, the quirky Australian naturalist who won worldwide acclaim, was killed by a stingray barb through the chest on Monday while diving off Australia's northeast coast, emergency officials and witnesses said.

"Steve was hit by a stingray in the chest," said local diving operator Steve Edmondson, whose Poseidon boats were out on the Great Barrier Reef when the accident occured

Very sad news... :disapprove: He did a lot for wildlife around the world and not just in Oz. At least he died doing something he loved.

Been pretty saddened about this all day today. Such a shame someone so full of life doing a great thing for wildlife gets taken away. RIP Steve.

Strewth Shelia a bloody stingray? BTW he's only the second person to be killed by one!

A damn shame, at least if it had been a croc you could understand it.......

Always enjoyed watching his shows.

He was an absolute nutter but was good entertainment.
