ok was coming home just passed a big lorry on the m74 and herd this big bang at fist i thort the pasanger side window had come in :eek::eek: looked across and could see this plastic flaping about in the wind so pulled over 2 find out this had happend !!!!!!!!!

Thats a bummer Rob! Only ever heard of that happening to one person before... Someone who had their roof (Mini One) painted white. To do it they had to remove the A piller covers, then a couple of months later one of them blew off like yours. She claimed they had never been put back on properly. Don't know what the outcome was.

But you haven't had the A pillars off have you?

nope not tuched them u can see wher it is srewed on behind the seal of the door and the bits of plastic :(

How bizarre is that - there was me driving back up the road from Manchester yesterday, minding my own business, stopped just past Dundee turned round and looked at my car and my passenger side trim strip was missing too.

HAve heard of this happening a mcouple of times int he past to a couple of owners on Mini2, but not for a while..

Think they got it sorted out under warranty too...

That happened to Sarah about 2 or 3 years ago when she had an 02 plate Silver mini one. Apparently it had had the panel removed at some point for a wind noise repair under warranty. I just pushed the thing pack into place.

how hard is it replace the bit and clips etc as mine is hanning off a bit at the bottom afer an accident repair ???

Seems to be an easy job ,as I saw Rob today at the dealers with it all fixed and bacd in place

well as angus said easy enuf it was in and out within 1 1/2 hours but they need bonded as well so the wind dos not get under it mine broke complety off and hit my wing mirror on the way so it going back in thus 2 get that done as well !!!

ah.. wondered what it was there for yeah their pretty easy to replace but their fiddly and if you miss with one clip and have to pull it back off it's all to easy to snap

honestly haven't seen it happen before... maybe a large stone??? dunno.. sorted now i guess

yeah i was working on the ramp next to it but as i was on the right side didn't notice what it was in for... only noticed cos it wasn't ur old cooper with the dual exit's? thought eh up sum'1s upgraded lol
