Right, so I get home from work, go in the house for half an hour and have to nip up to the shops...so I get in my car and start the engine and i hear a 'bong' and the thermometers reading 2c, the mpg and avg speed are back to zero as is the wee mileage beside the main one. Has anyone had this kind of thing before???:question::question::dead:

Not had this but have just paid &*()*ing £98.70 to solve high resistance problem in passenger seat belt tensioner which had made the airbag light come on. Apparently would have been free if under warranty. Price for owning a second hand mini is high if you ask me

Jonny, I had this problem and it was simply a slack connection at the battery. Check the terminal connecters dont move or jiggle around. If they do, its simply just a case of tightening with a screw driver.

I've checked it and the battery connections are sound as a pound...the curse of the MINI strikes again!!
