"Worshipping our cars every Sunday morning is a great British tradition", says Allyson Hunter, UK Market Specialist, BP Retail Fuels Management Group. However, to be in with a chance of winning the first ever BP Ultimate 'Love your car awards', that worship is going to have to spread a little further than a paltry once-a-week session!
To promote the cleaning power of BP Ultimate, a nationwide search to find the UK's greatest car lovers has been launched. The 'Love your car awards' aims to find the UK's biggest car worshipping enthusiast. Someone who puts their car above and beyond everything else - partners, children, pets…you name it, their car has to come before it!
The national winner will win a once in a lifetime motoring holiday to one of the world's most glamorous driving destinations, while 11 regional winners will be chosen and each awarded a day long Aston Martin driving experience.
"We're looking for the people who have made 'car love' into an art form. We want to find the motorists who love their cars as much or more than their partners, pets and families - the drivers who literally treat their cars with kid gloves", said Allyson Hunter, "BP Ultimate has taken car care to new levels by actually cleaning the engine as you drive… If you look after your car as carefully as BP Ultimate, we want to hear from you."
The process
Entrants have 150 words to express how and why they show their vehicle some good loving. Perhaps you kiss your Clio goodnight, or choose to sleep in your regularly buffed beamer instead of your bed - however your affection for your car is shown, BP Ultimate wants to know about it.
The BP Ultimate 'Love Your Car Awards' comprises two stages:
Stage one: UK drivers are invited to describe how and why they love their car. From these entries, 11 regional winners will be officially announced on 9th October and each awarded a day long Aston Martin driving experience.
Stage two: From the 11 regional winners, one national winner will be chosen who will win holiday vouchers worth £4,000 and a pair of weekend tickets for the 2007 San Marino Formula 1 Grand Prix courtesy of BP Ultimate. The national winner will be announced on 23rd October.
