cooper or cooper S ??

i have never drove an S, but to be honest i was not impressed with the cooper liked my Deisel a lot better.

I think most folks will say a S others may say the JCW S.

However take it for me you are much much much better of with a Cooper.

It is everything a Mini should be.:)

Having had all three ,I would have to say the Cooper is probably the better car, all round ...all depending on how its driven of course.The S and JCW S undoubtedly have more power tho .

Having driven all 3 (S, Cooper and One)quite a bit, Definitely the Cooper!
All that extra power in the S is fun, but as has been said, put them on a bendy road, and the Cooper is just more fun! - And a lot less changing gears! :cool::D

Haven't driven a Cooper so cant comment on that.I was in Andyp's cooper when he had one.

Had an S for 14 months before the JCW and now wouldn't go back.

So for me its SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSJCWSSSSSSSSSSSSSS all the way.

The noise of the supercharger is just amazing. Response off the gas pedal is absolutely mind blowing.

Changing gears is not a problem for me, it adds to the fun.If you dont want to change the gears to often A JCW S will quite happily zip along with fantastic responses even in 4th gear in slow and fast corners.

But I must admit the insurance could put a lot of peeps off.

If I could afford to have and RUN an S or JCW S then I prob would. But I reckon so far its the COOPER that gets my vote out of these two.

I love my ONE that I have now, maybe get it chipped eventually, maybe..... :)

thats right that is all little things if u are like me and just love power and the nosie it makes then it dose not matter a lot of my money gose in 2 my mini but i love it and it makes me happy 2 see it looking good :D

Sheesh, if you guys think the insurance and fuel consumption of an S is bad, you should try owning an Evo or a 911!!!:eek:

I would actually have to say go with a Cooper, despite having owned a 'slightly' modified S I couldn't justify buying another one, so when the time comes I will be ticking the Cooper box and sourcing an S bonnet (the only reason I would chose an S is I prefer the bonnet!!);):D:D

To me, the better CAR is the S, ideally kitted out with jcw or alike components... The best car to OWN i'd say would be a ONE/Cooper insurance wise, running costs, performance, capacity for upgrades etc is the best balance.

Oh aye & a Coop for me anyday. Young pups (in modded S's) on last years Cullen Run asked me what I had done to mod my Coop after they failed to keep up on the twisties :cool:

They blew me away on the straights mind ;)

hard to say i love my cooper its the only car iv ever had and i cant see myslef selling it ever but its been un tweeked for 3 years but now ive left uni its goint to have some cash put into it but on comparsion the only S ive ever driven was my mates and his is 260bhp and it was on a track day and i did over take a 911 gt3 with it but i love my cooper - but this may not stop me taking it to lohen next year and having an S engine put in it
