Hey Fi, whilst i've been messing with the internet explorer font stuff :I i came a ccross a wee thing that makes the screen go white :p
Only trouble would be that all screens would be white and it's not that great, but, if it's white background and black text you seek then:-

On internet explorer, go tools, internet options
Then select the accesibilty button on the general tab, now put a tick in the "ignore colours specified on web pages" voila, you won't be able to live with it though, but, try it out
