Thinking about changing the mini one, for either a cooper/cooper s or a convertable (mini), i like the convertables, would love a cooper s but the insurance would kill me at presnt so might have to wait another 2 years or so

As this is my first car, im a bit of a rookie when it comes to this, what options do i have?
Should i go back to menzies and trade it in for something better, how much am i looking at for my car?? Need some info!!

Mini one, indie blue, aero kit, 17" alloys, panaramoic sunroof, coming up for 40,000 miles, totaly mint cond, 52 plate.

All and any advice would be great -

Thanks
Bobafet

First thing is how much can you afford to spend !!! then see what you can get for that I would say .A Cooper would be a good step up from a one and be less to run than a CS.

I'd say get a cooper, spec it to the hills! (I'm guessing your going to buy new?)

If used, still get a cooper but get some goodies on it.

(of course i'm be biased towards the cooper; as im in denial about not wanting a jcw cooper s ;))

Your car's too pretty to change! Always think it looks great when I see it. But I don't think insurance for an s would be so bad, stone pays £850pa for an s works at 23!;)

Why not wait and order the new shape mini when it comes. Or im sure there will be a bit of a discount on all ready built models that the dealers have in a couple of months time.

That might be true as they will want to sell "old" stock first I would think ...before they HAVE to discount etc ;)

Thats the problem with options.
Only some will get you cash back at trade in/new car time.

Why not keep your one, as if its more power you are after, get an induction kit and get an engine managment chip. It will cost you about £90 for a pipercross induction kit and it cos me just under £500 for a unichip (which used a plugged into the harness not cut into it). This should give you a shade under 130bhp (my one dynoed at 128.9bhp on BP Ultimate, I would have had a bit more with optimax). This is possible as the Cooper is basicly the same as the one (unless anything changed since I found out about it). You could then spend some more on getting some nice rims and some decent rubber. I got rid of the runflats on my mini and put some toyo proxies on them and the difference was huge. I was getting tyre screaching round the corners at Knockhill when it was snowing.
