Scratched Windscreen

Help required!!

Big stone hit my front windscreen on the way to work this morning. It hasnt cracked or chipped the glass, just scratched it (RAC Autoglass said they cant do anything with it cause its not actually chipped.) Anyone know a good glass polish that might get rid of it as its annoying , or a company that specializes in that type of work.
Any ideas would be much appreciated

I'm wanting to try a glass polish too as I've got a few scratches on my rear windscreen caused by a crappy ice scraper!!:mad:

Brasso metal polish works pretty well, but it is hard work...

So does toothpaste, believe it or not, mixed with loads of elbow grease. I got windscreen wiper scratches off my old MG Midget windscreen eventually. Plus you get that Colgate Invisible Shield sparkle (TM) and it smells really fresh!
