Not sure, on way to arbroath we never stopped off at stirling so i don't know if we will be to callander...

If stopping off at stirling i'd guess a depart from hamilton at 8:10~

Craig
23rd July 2006, 06:09 AM
you will have to drive right past Stirling Services, so it would be a shame not to join the convoy... ;)

Sweeney
23rd July 2006, 06:12 AM
Well we did on the way to arbroath (drive right by) :p, i was dying for a pi$h as well so was gutted we didn't stop haha!

Sweeney
23rd July 2006, 06:31 AM

As posted in another thread ''Hamilton via Stirling''
Dont listen to to that sh**^ Craig we will be in at Moto svs,as you say we have to pass it anyway ,(The road turns off there Sweeney for Callender)....only reason we never stopped last time was that a call was made and the Stirling pick up tailed on at the back of the group.

No sure yet.....as we coming throu Fife might be quicker just to go straight to callender....might be more time in bed!;);):D

Craig
23rd July 2006, 09:41 PM
Ok Gill, no problem.... ;)

Sedgie, if your coming from fife, you will be passing Stirling Services (take it your coming over the Kincardine Bridge...)

Or you could go via the hillfoots... either way, no problem, if we don't see you at Stirling, we will see you in Callander. :D

Duncan Stewart
25th July 2006, 03:46 AM
I think we will be heading via Glen Devon / Glen Eagles to Callander (about 10 miles shorter than via Kincardine) so will see you in Callander.
Going to leave about 8am if you want to join us Sedgie

Hi all just seen your run in Modern Mini. It lookeed great.:D:D

Some of us from DMR are thinking of coming up to do a run like this in June next year and maybe cmpnig somewhere.

Do you have the run notes for this and any suggestions for campsites?

stoney
26th August 2006, 06:24 AM

Indy
27th August 2006, 04:45 AM
How long did it take to do this run excluding stops? and what sort of speeds were you doing?

If we split this in two and stopped over at Oban camping for the night do you think we would have a too much time left over at the end of each day?

Craig
27th August 2006, 05:02 AM
We left Callander 10:00hrs, had the stops mentioned in the notes (including stopping in Oban for an hour and half) and we were back in Balloch for approx 17:30hrs..

You will do the first part of the route in approx 3 hours. The second half (from Oban to Balloch) should take a little less time, but bank on 3 hours also..

If you need any help, or info, just let me know.

Craig :D

:EDIT: as for the speeds, we never got above 60 (mostly due to traffic on the road ) ;):approve:

Indy
27th August 2006, 05:22 AM
Thanks for that.:D

Indy
27th August 2006, 05:23 AM
So we will have loads of spare time if we did this in one day?

If we based ourselves in Callander do you have another run that we could do for another day.

Probably looking at coming up friday, camping firday night, doing the run Saturday and then camping saturday and doing another run sunday.

We only ever do the national speed limits anyway;);)and we have a diesel in our club.:(Sorry cant find a rolls eyes smilie :p

Craig
27th August 2006, 05:28 AM
There is a nice run from Balloch to Dunoon, used for the Thistle Run by the Mini Clan. I could get you the details for that. It uses some small back roads and is great fun, not a Huge mileage though, but you would have to get to Balloch from Callander to start.

let me know if this is of any use... :D

Indy
27th August 2006, 07:55 AM
Yes I'd like details of that please.:)

Just thought I'd tell you we have 12 possible Minis coming up to do this.
Planning to come up on friday the 15th June 2007, doing the run Saturday and then chilling out sunday and maybe finding some good photo locations.

Gonna camp here ..... http://www.trossachsholidays.co.uk/Main.html
