Oh my God what an experience! Hired a brand new pug 207 from Ciampino Airport and had it for 10 days in the vicinity of (but not in) Rome.

The driving is INSANE and the car was spectacularly poor.

Highlights included...
*Mopeds being driven at 80+mph on the autostrada cross-legged or side saddle while texting
*Very poor lane discipline with cars weaving all over the place at high speeds...
*very fast and very slow cars on the same road making it akin to an xbox game
*World cup final night was fantastic - drove twice on the Rome ring road - the first time it was CRAXY TAXI with 7 lanes of cars where only 3 should be all fighting to get home in time for kick-off, then 1 hour later the return journey was on completely deserted roads
*the brand new just launched pug 207 1.4 16v was spectacularly slow, had very uncomfortable saggy seats, poor aircon, terrible visibility, various faults, overly light steering with a giant steering wheel (Why!?) which blocked the instruments, a terrible gearbox... i could go on! My friends had hired a Fiesta 1.25 Zetec which was better in every way.
