I dont know if this is my firts post or not as i registered back in late 2005,but my log in has went :(
Any hello to all,i had a problem getting my ham radio into my new mini, but have it solved no np (my last attempt bent the tailgate at the roof)
the solution is to get a new watson mini magmount for 2M/70cm,this antenna has a very small coxal cable with a SMA plug fitted to it and fits through the tailgate no problem, without crushing the coxal cable
also the magmount is very small about the size of a 10p so no nasty scratches to the roof.
i use this with a 12v adaptor and a Yaesu VX7 modded for wideband (naughty naughty) so i can get PMR frequenceys on it too, ideal for those mini meets that i always seem to miss
works fine for me
you can get all the stuff inc radios antennas and chargers from Jay Cees in Glenrothes, just along the road from Superchips Scotland
P.S. a correct licence is required for operation of a Ham Radio
