Afternnon....

Many thanks for all yr help wi ma early question :cool: of how many Hula Hoops it takes to fill up the Inner ring of Saturn :p Now I've another tricky one....

Assuming that it were to strike precisely perpendicular to the earths surface/atmosphere, what is the biggest size that a silicate object can be to fully burn up in the atmosphere? Assume a density & that the object is at terminal velocity.

I did manage to prove theoretically that you can't fit the entire population onto the Isle of White for another question in the mean time (see below) :D its jus these space questions I get stuck on...:D

Pictures would also help :D:D:D

Off to wash ma car for Arbroath...anything rather than try n'answer that darn question, hehe :D

Can you fit the entire population onto the Isle of White...?

Population
World 6,517,436,900
12:34 GMT (EST+5) May 22, 2006

Area of one person (& http://www.rmca.org/Articles/cagesize.htm)
=approx = 300*400mm2 (jus smaller than an A3 sheet of paper) = 1200mm2

Area of Isle of White
380km2 = 380000000000000.00 mm2

CalculationsArea of isle of white – area of world’s population
= 380000000000000.00 mm2 - (6,517,436,900 * 1200mm2)
= 380000000000000.00 mm2 – 78209242800000 = -301790757200000

Answer
No – we could however, if removed, store everyone’s big toe on the isle…. (area 4.1mm2…!)
