Dunno. http://www.x5world.com/images/smilies/dunno.gif I'd need to see it in the flesh to see if I like it. Our first chrome scoop had a chrome mesh inside it and we were never very keen on it. But black would actually fit in with our current plans. http://www.x5drivers.co.uk/images/smiles/icon_chin.gif

black would suit it fine, regardless of your plans :p chrome only suits in certain areas... already enough chrome going on in the front end of your mini as it is so im not surprised chrome looked a bit iffy :D.
anyways, what are your current plans:question: do tell. ;)

Not sure about mesh of any sort in the bonnet scoop/intake - anything that potentially cuts the amount of air going over the intercooler (no matter how small) can't help..... Anyway, isn't the mesh more liable to get clogged by small bits & pieces which would normally just blow through?
I've never had any trouble with a blocked scoop, though once a sparrow wheeched through it... at 60mph, which would've trashed the mesh anyway. It was nicely done on the intercooler when I stopped (no damage - apart from the poor wee bird which had 'gone to meet its maker...it was an Ex-Sparrow'). Only 'blocked scoop' I get is with Hay Fever. So I'll be leaving mine as God intended!

Its very fine mesh (big gaps) Euan, and take your point re 'air over the intercooler ' but I'm not sure that it will be that much of a difference to be honest ,I hope not. The Chinky take-away bag the was in it before sure did :p ...hence the mesh ;)...will pop in and let you see it when I pass next .

Naah, I don't think it's 'keech'..... personally I just like to keep the "cosmetic" bits separate from the "working" bits.
By the way, I know no offence was meant, but using terms like "Ch**ky" on the NMS Website might do just that. Not being 'PC' mad, but I do printwork for our local Chinese School/Association, so I tend to notice stuff like that. They're great folks, but I doubt they'd dig it. Just a thought.....
