what oil should I use...?

Morning

Whilst heading back yesterday at speed on some contry roads :D ma oil light came on :eek: I checked when I got home and it is a wee bit low :disapprove: what's the best brand for a wee top up...

HI hve tried a search of the forums but didn't find anything...although I do remember a thread on this a while back...

errrr, it was on the speed'o....a wee oil can in red...must admit I didn't look it up, jus assumed that was what is was...

wrong angus :D, 0w 30... would be safe to use 5W 30 but using the higher grade would be more beneficial :p

castrol or comma is what i use.

This should do you fine, cost just as much as the official BMW stuff tho..

You can get 0W30 / 5W30 Castrol in places like Autosave or Halfrauds. Prolly around £15 for a litre :eek:

Hmmm..

Well mine was just above the 'Min' line when I checked it, put in most of the 1 litre bottle, and it't just up past midway between the both now...
Bear in mind that the 4 or 5 litre (whichever it is) size will be about £50!
