Whats involved in removing and fitting tail lights?

Also is the 3rd brake light just unscrew, unplug, plug in and screw back in? (Angus you know don't you? :p)

I would happily give a certain dealer money for doing it but he doesn't want my money ;) eh norman :p

(ianking you know what to do don't you? :)

Tail lights should be no problem , 3rd break light - I'm sure its only 3-4 philips screws !! and then it will pop out re seal it and boabs yir aunties husband etc ..< Home 29th pop up and I might just help you out> and you can get your T shirt

Do you know what to do for the tail lights?

By re-seal, im assuming its just a strip of rubber already there. i.e. don't need silicone or anything to do it? :p

Will need to see when it's going into menzies first before i can make any arrangements i'll let you know, cheers :D.

Sweeney the third brake light is bonded in aswell as screwed in. Trust me on this one:p

mikethemini was going to change mine today but he ran out of time as he said it was difficult to get the light out as it was stuck solid being already bonded and he would have needed more time to take small cooper spoiler off to get more room to get it out.

Sweeney

negative, only bmw spots and isn't sure about rust.

haven't "specifically" asked about tail lights or aerial but because its aftermarket :( he told me before they won't fit aftermarket, only bmw.

It's not a major problem would just prefer it all to be done in a 1er and by so called "professionals" ;).

Sweeney what aftermarket rear tail lights are you getting to fit your car. Won't you need to change the bottom reverse/fog light depending.

Sweeney - if you bring them to Arbroath I can do them on the day. 5 min job. We can do it at Perth then have to struggle to catch the rest up I guess...........

MartinSullivan

As stated above it really is a 5 min job to swap them out, even with big hands like me - so Im sure you could do it yourself

Sweeney
22nd June 2006, 11:00 PM
im sure i could but i don't know how :p, what about 3rd brake light needing bonded that's at least a couple hours as you need to let the adhesive cure?

ajamesj

My third brake light was not bonded it just popped out three screws then pushed a screw driver through the screw holes and the light popped out.

spoke to norman, he reckons some will have sealant as a few were leaking but it was fixed and most are unscrew>popout
