hi all, thinking of a colour change for the diesel burner, got some colour samples, thinking of a blue to purple flip paint, hoping to get it done before the f+m show, what do you all think?

alan, don't know if you'd want to use bmw but they do those colour switch tridescent/pearlescent paint jobs, although i believe they are looking for between 3 and 4 grand for it :p (go to your "local" ;) dealer and they have examples on display)

personally, i think your minis colour and stripes look good. I was after a black to gold flip or red to white, at the end decided the mini doesn't quite look good with it plus i couldn't justify the cost.

Why not go for astro black which has a blue tint to it or the parklane which i think has a green tint to it if you don't want a standard colour option black with gold flakes?

http://www.newminiscotland.co.uk/new_gallery/members/index.html 1/3rd along the pics there is an example of one of bmws colours.

the flakes are a bit harder to work with(had them on another car)the flip paint is nice as long as it is spayed right, classic coachworks in wishaw is going to do it for me(my mate owns it)so it ain't going to cost as much as bmw, just can't decide what colour or mods to have done(going to fit a cooper s bonnet though)

personally i would keep it on the subtle side with the flip paint, too strong a colour swap is a bit dodgy if you ask me :)

blue to pruple only suits a max power corsa or something like that if you ask me though ;)

If i had the will power i'd get something like this (except chilli red):

what d'ya think?

no max bodykits or halford's stickon's,just the bonnet, jap wings and maybe some face lift bumpers, green to purple or blue to purple, decisions, decisions

blue to green is quite nice, if you have to have purple have purple and blue :sleepy:

too much choice, so little time :p

blue and red is alright although i think green and blue looks better, depends what you want though, two tone paint job not another option to go for? must be flip paint?

Are you gonna totally strip the car to a shell, or just do the outside, in my experience a simple outside respray doesn't last and looks pants when you lift the bonnet

doesn't have to be flip paint,it's just diff to everyone else, the is going to be stripped down inside the doors, bootlid etc all getting done,a new cooper s bonnet is also being fitted so underneath will get done, under the bonnet will remain black though(cos i ain't taking the engine out.

i'd go for the 2 tone job :p, could get a two tone flip paint job, arches trim etc green to blue and rest of it blue to green, would be very original ;)

oh so that tips it just over the scale does it ;)

just do the sensible thing and get a blue/black red/black blue/green 2 tone paint job :p

Flip paint is different to most other minis, but common to the whole corsa/saxo etc scene so i don't reckon its a good move. If i had to choose what to do i'd go for an aero kit or something, and get it done in a HOK Candy colour, not too chavvish that way.

candy is nice, the orange mini on the jap site is nice, but i think i will stick with flip

fireman01
14th June 2006, 04:40 AM
keeping mine i think, whats the diff with the cooper and other models?

Sweeney
14th June 2006, 04:43 AM
you have the cooper s bumpers and side skirts, also your front grille is a custom one i bleieve, if you get any i would suggest the aero side skirts if you like them that is (what mine and a few others on here incl Smittys).

fireman01
