:eek:How can any person in their right mind justify this at any cost , is this not ironic, racistic ,bigoted, schocking , down right moronic and generally in very poor taste ....what would anyone in their right mind buy anything remotely like this for .
Lets hope the Germans have a sense of humour...I think not .

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Anyone eles see the 'special' World Cup 'They think it's all over'?

It was basically a half hour of bashing the Germans with a few other cheap laughs. I felt embarrassed for Boris Becker and the other ex-German internationalist to have to sit and endure that.. :I

Can't wait till a few weeks time when the World Cup and Big Brother are over and the TV can get back to normal! :p

Can somebody remind me again what a game of Football has to do with the extermination of MILLIONS of people, and the maiming, torture and deaths of millions more(including innocent civilians / women / children)?

What has football to do with wearing a WW2 British infantry helmet with an SAS patch (sticker) and another with the words 'Attack Attack' on it?

That's WAY beyond banter. That's a racist and bigoted statement against the host nation, and if any England fans find themselves in hospital afer wearing one, they rightly deserve it.

NO doubt the ENGLISH media will stand up for their poor fans, who were abused at the hands of the merciless foreign hooligans, you can guarantee any sign of these offending articles will be edited out of any footage.

Hey, it's alright though, the guy's redeemed himself. There's a disclaimer - 'These helmets are just for a laugh'. Oo. It's underlined so that must make it ok. Try telling that to the 7 million Jews wiped out in WW2.

anybody STILL unclear about the Scots general unwillingness to support England?

I must add I'm disgusted by this and I would imagine most normal English people would be as well. Any English fan wearing one of these deserves to used as a chew toy by the german police dogs.

Although I think you may have over reacted slightly, not for the first time.

Yes its a poor attempt at humour but did you react in the same way when you saw Dad's Army or any other WW2 based comedy?

Agreed! See comments about chew toy. But any sort of racist comments can't be justified as banter, its racism.

Full of crap, how the hell does the media edit live pictures just in case some pillock in the crowd of 45,000 has one of these on. Time to take a reality pill.

What the f. does a an army hat have to do with the jews? Again complete over reaction!

How and why do these things keep getting posted on this site? What the real motive, are 'we' the genuine outraged majority or is it just another chance for some thinly veiled bigotry and another dig at the English?

BTW that was a rhetorical question.

Selling or wearing such a thing as that helmet is an embarassment to any self respecting Englishman. Why pick a German WWII helemt to fly the flag for English football? There is no other reason than to make reference to the war which is extremely sad. Probably more than 99% of Germans you speak to are themselves embarassed and angry about what the nazis did in the war and want to put that piece of their history behind them. It's just typical of some bigoted English fan to use the world cup as an opportunity to rub their faces in it again. Very diplomatic...

THAT....is the difference between the Tartan Army and the thug element of Englands travelling support. (Not ALL I have to emphasise) We respect local history and people and enjoy making friends with host nations we visit.

I wish I shared your optimism, I'm still waiting to see a specialist.

Looks like I might be going private to try to speed things up.

I know, so don't let it bother you :D:D Just having a rant cos I'm entirely sick of all the 'Patriotism' being shown by eejits like this and the so-called popular media (read: The Scum, The Star, all the other tabloid junk, including that hateful Crazy Frog etc).
It's embarrassing to think we're classed as British alongside the tossers who will be wearing stuff like that, guilty by association if you like.. You don't see any onther country's fans turning up with stuff designed purely to wind up and intimidate the opposition opposing fans do you? If there is any out there I'd be interested to see which countries are windin up others! ;);):D:D

It may be just a huge case of inferiority complex for the 'hooligan' personality. Their fathers and grandfathers fought in a war for their country, invaded countries and fought for their Queen. Now it's the little hooligan's turn, and there's no World War, so they have to go and fight with ANYBODY to make themselves feel less impotent. I dunno.
We certainly don't hate you for it Paul ;) .. unless you were to turn up at a run in one of those fetching white helmets! :p:p:p:blackeye::blackeye::D:D:D

p.s..

Are you on a lot of Anti-biotics? Reason I ask is that Ellie's just suffered a nasty case of Glandular Fever, and before they could work out what it was, she was put on Anti-biotics, and they made her loads worse. She couldn't eat anything substantial for weeks, for fear of throwing up and feeling much worse.
Thankfully it's easing off a lot now and she's more or less back to normal.

Hope you get someone to sort you out soon, I don't envy you any of the pain or discomfort :(

Chin up! :):)

What both of them

I think it might be a reaction to a drug they recently put me on. Don't really know though, just hope it's nothing too serious I'd hate to miss the World Cup ;)

As I said before this WW2 soup plate (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ENGLAND-WORLD-CUP-HELMET-HAT-2006_W0QQitemZ8823699875QQcategoryZ123876QQrdZ1QQc mdZViewItem) , should be kept in a box in the loft .I stll have my grandfathers one , hole in it as well !!!!,he was in both wars (decorated 9 times )and to his dying day never once told me anything about it ,except he removed his tin lid to have a cig ...ping ,there you go , a vent ,and always said it was hell when it rained...he was asked on many occasion ,as wee boys do ,but never said a word about what went on .
people sell things on ebay to make money ...rightly so , but you have to question the mindless idiots that will buy someting like that ...for what , is it funny , is it modern day fun ..I dont think so at all.I'm not getting at anyone other than the DH 's that will wear such a thing in the name of sport...Bring on the lovely looking Ladies in the vests and shorts I say ...at least that will be better to look at , oh and I do hope the kicking of a wee Ba round a pitch is just as pleasing to the eye .
