Well i got a bit of money saved for the performance mods to start
but i wanted to get some guages and stumbled across these badboys only available from the BMW MINI Dealerships in the Good ol U.S. of A
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b154/Marco1977/gauges.jpg
These are also available from a Mini Performance company called outmotoring.com For $325 roughly £180 these include the lovely cooper s logo'd guages wiring harness which just plugs in only hard part is fitting the pipe to the vacum hose.

Spoke to the guys and they werent sure if it would fit as its for LHD but check the part numbers and the top half of the steering column trim is the same as the U.S. so should fit.

Gonna get it ordered up i will keep you updated once it arrives and is fitted

yeah i looked into the alta duel pod but it doesnt hide the wires and vacuum pipe that come out the backs of the guages unlike the OEM one does all wires are stored under the trim plus you dont need to cut and solder any wires as the wiring harness has a small plug which plugs into the plug slot at the back of the toggle switches and the original cable plugs into the new plug.
Straight forward job
