TIME TO RALLY THE TROOPS

Who's up for an invasion of Scotland’s Secret Bunker (http://www.secretbunker.co.uk).:) Sunday 22nd October

Rendezvous Tesco's car park South Queensferry store. Arrive 9:30am for a 10:00am Departure
After leaving the RV point we will force a crossing over the River Forth into fife. The rear guard will then blow the bridge.
After a short regroup on the North shore of the Forth we will then continue on through Fife taking no prisoners as we twist and turn along the Kingdoms roads.

Contained in the battle plans is a brief stop in Anstruther for Fish and Chips. (we do have to keep the Weefossies filled up).

On arrival at our destination we will be requested by the Keeper of the Bunker to part with some cash for access to the sensitive information contained deep inside the Fife countryside.

Admission Charges are as follows :
Discounted group rates.
Adults £6.80
Children £4.00
Audio Tour £1.50 (recommended)

Once you have all the information you require you are free to make your own way home.(all those going back to Edinburgh will have to go round by The Kincardine Bridge);)

All troops signing up for this put your name on the duty roster below.

Update 4th May.
Due to logistical reasons we're going to have to put a limit of 25 on the run. We dont yet know the route having not done any recce's yet.We know that parking is'nt a problem at The Bunker and in Anstruther its the other parts of the run we're not sure about. I'll start a reserves list if needed. I hope you all understand. Neil:cool:

Update 11th October Final recce now completed run notes will be available for download soon watch this space. Can we also draw your attention to the fact that this is a sold out run with a number of people on the reserve list. So if anybody has to pull out please give us and the people on the reserved list as much notice as possible. Cheers Peeps. N & L.

Update 14th October Meeting time is as follows :
Arrive 9:30am for a 10:00am Departure. Tesco South Queensferry is just off the A8000 south of the bridge.

We'll recce the area on the way down and set the charges on the bridge while we wait for the convoy..

(Translation: The bunker is only about 16 miles (south) from us, so we could come down as far as the FRB, and meet the convoy for the journey to the bunker:cool::cool: Or if we're running late <cof> ;) we can keep the bunker under surveillance till the troops arrive! :D)

I've just found part of the script from that episode on the internet, so here it is..........

Ross: Well, of course you can defend yourself from an attack you know is coming. That's not enough. Look, I studied karate for a long time, and there's a concept you should really be familiar with. It's what the Japanese call Unagi.
Rachel: Isn't that a kind of sushi?

First post updated.

We've had to put a limit of 25 on this run.
So there's only 1 space left at the moment.

Both of us and AndyP and Lenore are delighted that so many of you are interested in the run. Having only had a dozen or so cars on our previous runs we didn't think a limit would of been necessary on this run.

Especially in late October.:D

Getting everybody fed and watered is on our minds. Spoke to the Chippie owners, They have given us an indication as when to arrive for us all to get served. We are not using 1 specific place to eat. Just giving us time in Anstruther for people to eat where they want.
I.E carry out, sit in or use other places.
More details on this later.:D:D

I'm sorry but I need to pull out of this one. Have had a disaster in the bathroom and have had to take two walls of tiles down afore they fall off due to water damage. My services are needed to assist with the repairs that is make the coffee and entertain the wee one who has refused to go back on a mini run. The activity at the end or half way through is great but she just gets so bored stuck in the car for so long. Bummer because I was looking forward to my day out. Oh well i guess someone else will be happy.

Grout on, grout off:(:(:(

No probs sheilz hope its sorted without to much hassle.

KJ...It was myself and Kim's first day today...in fact we only came along to have a look at the MINI's, but when invited to tag along....how could we resist! :)

Kim and I were one of the last one's out of the bunker...and I overheard a bunch of the last group say "Quick...let's get a head start on KJ!!!"

I would hate to start trouble on our first day....but I reckon they know you had the fastest car...and are the best driver!

Needless to say we were like bats out of hell as well!

Thanks for a great day Neil and Lorna, day started off looking really dodgey but turned to be a brilliant day.

Apart from starting off in a newly washed and valeted car etc at the start then ending up with a car looking very much like Alans car...

Must admit it was pretty funny looking at all the nice gleaming minis, then there was Alans!!! (all ready for his manky thrash run) :D:D lol

It was good seeing a lot of the regular faces again and the new faces.
KJ It was good to see you again, and was good to meet Simmi, hope she had a good time on her first NMS run?:)

Kim and I would like to say "A BIG HI" :D to all on the Secret Bunker run along to Crail today.

Everyone was so nice...and we thank you for the warm welcome offered. Sorry if we didn’t get to chat with everyone. I’m terrible with names…so I thank the very kind man (he’s a very very kind man!!!), that opened my boot, adjusted my parcel shelf so that this dum cluck newbie (yes Kim…ME!!! I hear you dear!) could get his rag-top to go down again!!! :approve:

This not only allowed us to get the roof down and freeze again…but as you will imagine…saved me an embarrassing trip to a MINI garage.

I tried to seek out JAYEX, as he was the first guy that I had emailed with from the forum, and he was the guy that told me about the run today…but never saw you. :(

As previously said…we had no intentions of going on the run, just to come along and have a look at the MINI’s. Thanks to Lorna and Neil for the invite.

Well! Michty Me!…we were well impressed with what everyone has done with the cars! I have to admit that MINI colours I previously thought I didn’t like and stripes that I didn’t think I would have on a car ALL looked great!

We hope to get along in the future on a run….and have more time to look in detail at what you guys have done.

I followed Andrew and Lenore (OK…I tried to keep up with Andrew and Lenore) on the way to the bunker. Have to say mate…I love the sound of your exhaust…hope mine sounds something like that! Maybe when I can drive the car properly (been in a van too long) you can listen to mine playing tunes someday. ;)

So, hope to see you all again soon!

Ello Pacman :D

Yes...it was me...the toothless wonder :D and Kim. The tooth…hmmm…I lost a crown recently…and can’t get a dentist to sort me out…so I look like Mike Tyson’s sparing partner. How did I lose the tooth?...was it the Karate I did for 10 years?…or the ice hockey that I partook in all those years ago before ordering the beer belly out of a catalogue? Nope!!..Cricket…YES…CRICKET! Gentleman’s sport my big backside!

I don't think you have the plate worked out to be honest  But would like to hear what you were thinking on

Its a long story. My surname is Trayner. When my Dad bought his last car...an X Type (he hates it) I found him the number T123 NER. We kinda thought that it looked like TRAY NER, but didn't look enough like a private plate to annoy a young person with a sharp key that likes defacing cars. His friends know it’s his car and have a wee chuckle…but other people don’t notice. When I bought my little buggy a few weeks ago…I was going to buy X66 MJT. I was born in 66’ and MJT are my initials, but found T321 NER, which I thought would make the car look “vintage”. Its the reverse of my Dad’s plate and again I thought would be less likely to offend our friends with keys.

So there you are…that’s the long answer to why I chose that number. If you are sitting there going “Errr…I don’t see Trayner in T321 NER"…don’t worry about it…just look at this post as a scary insight into the workings of my brain. :clown:

Maybe I should have tried to get B3 WARE as my reg :approve:

Well, now that even I know where it is (roughly), they'll have to change it to “The Not Very Secret at all Bunker”

Thanks Neil and Lorna et al for an excellent day out, culminating in my mankiest ever car and an environment-destroying 25mpg....that's trying to keep up with Nicola on those back roads. I was quite “exhausted”!

Great day out with everybody familiar, new and missing for a while - KJ - car's still looking good - but did you get locked in the Bunker? 'Angus the Navigator' did a fine job of getting me breakfast for under £2.00 at Tesco and not getting me lost, but I don't know if the MPG had anything to do with the extra weight... Fiona - I KNOW that the MPG on the New MINI is much better. Still not buying one yet! You're not on a commission from MINI are you? You and your mind-games...

Excellent Lunch. Malcolm - As the Dolphins said in 'The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy', “Thanks for all the Fish”. Jason - thanks for the Banana, like Marky C's MINI, it was very yellow and very tasty. Speaking of 'Mr C', is there a fund for psychological treatment for the trauma caused by the dirt on his car?. Luckily the rain on the way home has cleaned some of my 'muck off'. Which is what I'll do right now!

What a fine way to spend a Sunday. See some of you on Friday for the 'Meat'.

We've put a Play Mini cat-back exhaust system on the car, so our exhaust does sound a bit more throaty than OEM. But for a REAL exhaust sound, you can't beat Elfman (G3ELF). Elfman has the full play mini system, manifold, cat and rear boxes. It's the dogs danglies!!!:D:D:p:p:p
