Hi folks,

After this week I will be running 17" 205/40's on my Mini One. (Thanks Tez) At present they are clad with Toyo rubber. What is the general consensus of the best tyre for this size of wheel for general use. I will not be taking the car on the track. Any suggestions/views/comments would be gratefully appreciated.

Cheers,

In my experience you can't beat Federals for performance vs price. Autoexpress did a test and Vedersteins (spelling?) came out best I think.

hi mate,

imin the same boat and have just put on another 2 205/45/17's, no problem at all with the profile, although when i ordered them on the net i noticed that if i went for a 40 deep profile, i could have saved as much as £10 a tyre for the same brand, so maybe save a few quid and stick with the 40's?

or anyone elses advise would be good!

cheers

i found that 214/40/17 is a more common size, therefore you get a better choice of rubber and they as a bit cheaper.

e.g. i dont think goodyear f1's are available in 205/45/17 and i would pay the extra £20 a corner for F1's over toyos, and i@ve had both.
