Hello all I am fitting a set of musical air horns to my big 4x4 and was wondering there is a positive and a negative terminals on the bottom of the compressor and I only want to run it off a switch, so negative earth connect negative on compressor to the body, positive from the battery to the switch then from the switch to the positive on the compressor. this should work right or is that just to simple:I

Help

(p.s. it's for the boy ;))

I take it that was an attemp at a joke :D:D:D.
Yes a live all the way to the sw then onto the compressor then to earth ...depending on the air out put etc ,ie if its really power full a relay might be a good idea .

Thanks there VB

So let me get this right if I dont want it conected to the main horn I have to connect,
terminal 86 to the earth
terminal 87 to the switch
terminal 30 to the positive on the battery
terminal 85 to ????????? would this be a live to the battery as well

also I take it the switch would be inbetween terminal 87 and the compressor (in series)

Sorry for being a pain

Ah, my mistake hadn't checked the diagram wasn't using the original horn circuit.

The switch should go between the coil(85) and the battery then out of the coil (86) to earth, that's the switching circuit.

The Compressor would then be connected to (87) and then to earth. A connection from the battery goes into the relay via a fuse at (30). Thats if your relay has the same numbers, I think :I

In summary
Wire from battery into switch then to terminal 85.
Wire from terminal 86 to earth.
Wire from battery to fuse the to relay terminal 30.
Wire from terminal 87 to compressor then to earth.
