Put my car on the rolling road on Saturday.
This picture is what am getting at the wheels with a pipercross viper induction kit and a cooper exhaust.

This is the power am getting at the wheels with all of the above plus my bluefin super chip.

Shame it couldnt be 124bhp at the wheels! Is the 90bhp quoted for a mini one at the wheels or at the fly wheel

I would imagine at the flywheel, but I could be wrong....

I had a scary incident on a rolling road when my MINI nearly jumped off the rollers - i'd never do it again!

Most cars quote BHP at the flywheel.

Yeah all car power figures (as quoted by manufacturers) are @ flywheel generally speaking

As stated manufacturers figures are quoted at the flywheel - the rolling road attempts to calculate this by using the braking effect of the rollers to calculate the losses between the flywheel and the wheels of the car, it is only an approximation. You did the right thing by taking a reading before and after the bluechip installation - gives a better understanding of the gains.

quote:How did this happen ?It was a while ago, and in my previous MINI. They just didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing, got confused about their readings, and had the car travelling at far higher speed than they thought (double I think). The car really did nearly go through the wall - and would have taken the 2 operators with it...
