rusting spot lights

Hey guys just wondering if any one has had a problem with their spot lights rusting at the bottom by the bolt?

Yes, its a common fault on MINI spotlights.

If your MINI is still under warranty, contact your dealer!

Noticed today that mine have a little surface rust around them - just a light T-Cut should sort mine.

Don't know if mine are Mini warrantied spots or not!!! Mine ain't that bad anyway!:p

I had a wee NMS thread on this recently. My actual spots are OK, it's the mounts underneath that are the problem. Mostly cleaned off (weekly in this weather) with 'Solvol Autosol' polish, but one of the mounts is actually a wee bit pitted now..... When I get more time, I'm going to quiz the dealer about it. Car's two years old - seems to be a common problem. Maybe we should all get together and petition BMW to sort out their Spotlight/Mounting supplier!
