Well not really, we've been having a few problems with the conversion. On cold mornings it wouldn't run smoothly until the engine had completely warmed through, sometimes it would only be running on 3 cylinders. A real bummer, actually came close to demanding the system was taken off the car and getting a refund.

Anyway the problem has now been tracked to a faulty gas injector that wasn't operating low temps and probably below spec when warm. A totally new injector rail was fitted last night, 30 minute job, and it seem to be OK now.

The run into work was quite an eye opener, I swear the car is now quicker on gas than on petrol. Pick up is better and power does seem better at higher revs.

No, I checked it against the petrol system back to back this morning, it does seem quicker.

I have found that with the system fitted to my Audi it deffinatly seems faster on the gas better pick up and throttle response and accelleration in higher gears on the gas.

Its a cylinder tank mounted in the boot 60 litres which gives a working capacity of 48 litres, so roughly 270-300 miles range on gas. Fill up point is on the back of the car so I can fill up from either side.

The kit was made by OMVL and the conversion done by a local LPGA approved fitter. The car has the modded S exhaust and air filter so it sounds great.

I've got the same size of tank but it's the teroidal tank in the spare wheel well I get around 200 miles from a tank 1.8 Audi. I got the system because I do 500 miles a week commuting  and the cheapest unleaded is 97.9p a litre :eek:

How much did it cost to fit in the Audi?

It is the Nicholson maclaren engines conversion and it was £1850 to fit to the Audi but when you do 500 miles a week like me it pays for it's self in a year.

Good price that! Our MINI was £1650 and the Omega £1850 (V6) but that was for cylinder tanks.
