Are you looking for a polish (ie. an abrasive product that will get rid of fine scratches etc) or a wax/sealant based product that will just protect the paint finish and leave it shiney?

looking for something that will take care of any fine scrathces as it polishes and shines.

Got the three stage meguairs stuff but dinae leave a wet look shine IMO and that's what I want.

Hey Fi - guessing the "black beast" will be new.

If so then I would go with something like Klasse AIO follwed by a coat of Megs#16 or P21S carnuba - these are well recommended on Autopia and personally by KenL.

The real problem with black is keeping it swirl free - so you know it needs to be a lambswool mitt and 2 bucket wash.

Your 3-stage megs kit will do for keeping the swirls at bay once it starts to get warmer.

Klasse AIO is a great product and id would recommend that, perhaps topped up with Poorboy's Natty's Blue Wax (heard good things about this.)For a quick wax product.......im getting some at xmas Optimum Car Wax is meant to be great. Spray on wax/sealant , so takes 15 mins to do the car. Great to keep wax layer built up.

Personally im going down the sealant route, of Klasse AIO followed by Poorboy's EXP (a pure sealant), topped up with Optimum Car Wax.

Places to buy these products online are:
http://www.motorgeek.co.uk/
http://www.cleanandshiny.co.uk/
http://www.seriousperformance.co.uk/

and a guy Ive met on Seat Enthusiasts from Aberdeen is starting an online Car detailing business in the New Year with a very good looking product list. The home page is online just now but site should be running with online shop etc beginning of next yr. His webiste is

I'm getting a BMW X5 Sport exclusive edition with Cinamon Nappa Leather. It's one of those you either love or hate it interiors. Going for the drug dealer look getting a aerodynamics bodykit fitted and all going well should be ready for collection Saturday.

Had a lot of problems with the Touareg and they would not cover it under waranty as they knew I had her chipped so I cut and ran.

order placed with motorgeek:D

that's some site think I may have got a bit carried away:I

but why are they selling hair straightners:question::p;)

anyways

so in what order would you use these polishes.

Starting by washing the car with fairy liquid then what ???

macblob
22nd December 2005, 08:46 AM
lmao I have no idea why they are selling them lol

Personally I wouldn't bother washing the car in fairy liquid, but Wul may think differently. I would wash the car with a good car shampoo, dry it off, clay bar the entire car if you want to, then use Klasse AIO which will strip any wax that was on the car anyway as it contains cleaners. After the klasse AIO I would apply Poorboy's EXP whcih can be layered (getting some of this at xmas too). or go on with a waz like poorboys natty's or P21S carnuba depending on what you bought.
Tell me what u actually ordered and I'll do my best to say what order id use em in imho of course.

Damm you didn't half get carried away :)
Thought I was bad.
Poorboys's Slick & suds is meant to be a really good shampoo from what ive heard.
I would wash with Slick & suds (two bucket method), clay bar (but depends on condition of the finish),Then the Klasse AIO, then Poorboy's EXP sealant followed by Poorboy's Natty's wax (blue)or the p21S wax.
The Optimum Polish probably wouldnt be necessary on a brand new car, but will be handy for when its a bit older. It would probably be best used before the Klasse AIO IMO.
Hopefully Wul will be about to see if im talking rubbish or not :)

'kin ell Fi - you wern't joking about getting carried away!! ;)

If you are gonna clay the car then skip the fairy wash - however given the size of the car and the fact it's new get alan to feel the paintwork to see if it's needing clayed as black is a nightmare to clay properly! if it's not then go for the fairy.

Klasee AIO
Poorboys EX-P
Natty's Paste Wax or P21S

Dunno anything about the optimum products.

:)

Heh heh - we posted pretty much the same Brian!:clown:

Fi - one thing I noticed was you never bought any MF towels - I trust you have plenty of them already?

Claying a new black car can lead to marring of the clear coat if you do it too hard - that's why I said to get alan to "feel" the paint! 8)

Only optimum product ive heard excellent reoprts on is the Spray wax.
Good to keep the layer of wax built up, especially over the winter.
Im planning on using it almost like a quik detailer, so the car will get a coat of wax ever 2 or so washes :)
Ive not heard about the rest of there range.

God i think i need to get a life.

If i buy a house next yr it will get worse no doubt, cause ill be out buying pressure washers and a PC
