Bloody lucky it was a Sunday as the surrounding factories were empty, all it takes is one little leak
It really is amazing that there wasn't anyone killed, although it maybe to early to be sure.

Awful and it could have been a lot worse when you think about it
It was Texaco/Total facility that went up right next door to BP's own terminal also backing on to the pipline agency.
The Buncefield depot is connected by pipeline to Total's 200,000 b/d Lindsey refinery on the North Sea coast, and is used to store Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel, unleaded gasoline, kerosene, gasoil and aviation fuel.
As well as supplying gasoline and diesel to service stations in the region, the depot is also connected by pipeline to London's major Heathrow and Gatwick airports
Total loads 400 road tankers there on a daily basis.
Now I don't know but we've heard that two drivers on the gantry loading the tankers seen a "cloud" of vapour going over the top of the gantry all drivers got off the gantry (although it's all bottom loading) but you know what I mean and made a run for it. This would indicate that someone somewhere didn't open a vent.
