Driving instructor had a Vauxhall Corsa (crappy little diesel thing) but I really learned with my Dad in a 1.0 Fiesta. It was white, so you could see me coming I suspect! think it was a C plate.

Then I had (very)limited use of ma Dad's Nissan 200sx before I spun it 180o at the lights one Sunday morning going for the papers :D:D:D then got wee Jen ~ an F'reg polo rust bucket :cool:

My driving instructor had a K plate 1.6 Civic, then K plate Clio 1.8RSi! She never did tell me how fast the car was till the day i passed my test and she drove me home in it!

First cars I drove was my dad's C plate Cav diesel, and his B plate Renault Trafic Van! Mind you the Van had the 1.7 tuned engine that came out of the Renault 11 sport and the Renault 21, so when empty Could burn off people at the lights (especailly the rather annoyed guy out my college class who had tuned up his Mk1 Fiesta Super Sport!!:D)

I learned to drive in a 1.4 Clio, it was written off (NOT BY ME:p) the week before I sat my test. Instructor pulled up outside my house in a Merc A Class an hour before my test:eek:.....PASSED THO!!! lol

In 1981 I first learned in a 1980 Austin Metro 1L (BSM) along side my dads 79 (bright yellow) Morris Marina 1700HL.
After breaking my leg in a bike crash (May 82) I restarted & passed my test in Jan 83 in a (privateer) X reg Ford Escort 1.3 Ghia. Pre test I practised in my dads new brief , an 82 X reg Ford Escort 1.6 GL which was a flying machine :approve: & the first car I drove after passing my test

My Instructor Changes his car twice in 3 months when i was doing my lessons First Was a 1.4 Corsa, Then a 1.0 Micra then a Gold Peugot 106 Zest!! 1.4. First car I drove after passing my test was an E reg Renault 21 1.7TS. ....scary!!!

An 2002 1.0 Yaris!!!! Chug a chug! Up aww the hills! Passed my test a wee while later, and two weeks after passing, MiniMe had my first mini waiting on me at menzies! Stalled three times between menzies to the petrol station opposite, much to Iain's amusement im sure, think i frightened him, when i stalled coming out of the filter lane! Very nice of him to pay for the petrol tho!

Where did you get it? and When???
My first (sorry second, but first REAL car) was an Orange Clubby too! The real colour was 'Vermillion'.
Black arches, black grille and bumpers, black painted Weller 6x10s. Interior was black velour too.
I really miss that wee car! Was definitely one of my favourites.. put a new front floor in it, sills, A-panels, brakes, got the head off it, replaced the valves, cleaned the head up a bit ;). It was quite nippy for a wee 1100cc ;):D

I had my orange clubby in 1986 - It was an earlier orange colour called "Blaze". I later had a "Vermilion" Clubby Estate - brilliant colour deeper than the "Blaze"

Passed test in the instructor's Morris1100 with hydrolastic suspension. I then had a maroon D reg Austin 1100 with a big bore Peco exhaust and "Town and Country" tyres on the front. Also had a ridiculous sports steering wheel and hub caps removed with the steel wheels painted hammerite silver.
Don't think insurance companies gave a toss what mods you did to your car in those days. The Lucas sealed beam fog and spots that I fitted are now on my brother's Italian Job mini and still working (not rusted either).

A then brand new 1989 "Mini Racing Green" special edition - i was sitting in the seat at midnight waiting to turn 17 to set off on my first lesson! I passed 5 weeks later first time.

Driving instructor had a Fiesta LX - hideous, awful piece of cr@p which made it more difficult to drive!

first car i ever drove was a subaru 1.8 turbo - the hideous thing that they had out before the legacy- then after that i drove a saphire 2000e - ANIMAL-

we used these in the Fields then my friend got a toyota corolla gti 16v. HOLY F*CK was it fast. it did 120 mph down a single track when we were only 15 terrifying now cause if i drive the Audi down it now at 20 mph i fear for the front bumber on the bumps. YOUNG and foolish . First legal drive on the road was in a Sharan VR6 that my mum had. then a skoda octavia Vrs that my instructor had for the first lesson his tdi was late in arrivin so he got the demo vrs i liked it back then.

but my first car was a blu oval
FOCUS zetec. we went everywhere did and tried everything in it off roading too
