One for Bonnie I suspect....

In my 04 3 series coupe I have factory fit bluetooth and as such can download the phonebook to the car and make calls. Anyone know where I can find the latest info as to which phones work? BMW are rubbish at updating the website. I know my other halfs D500 doesn't download the phonebook but can recieve and make calls, but my K700 does everything I want it to.

Any ideas?

Fully Compatible Phones:
(These phones will syncronize the phone book with the car, not disconnect randomly, able to make calls and receive calls hands free etc)

Ericsson: T39m, T68i
Motorola: V500, V525, V600, V635, RAZR V3
Nokia: 8910i , 6310i, 6230 ( with V05.21 or higher firmware), 6230i 6021, 6822, 8910
Siemens: S55, S65
Sony Ericsson: T610, T616, T618, T630, Z600, K700, S700i, S700 (with R3K004 or higher firmware), K750i, Z800i

Notes:
- If there are many SMS message stored on the K700, connection/disconnection problems may occur
- The S700i does NOT disconnect when more than 10 SMS are stored on the phone, but, does disonnect and reconnect when long SMS are stored on the phone, namely more than 160 characters long
- For the S700 you will need to update the firmware to R3K004, otherwise you will have the disconnection problem due to multiple (more than 10) SMS problem. When you update the only problem which remains is the Long SMS problem (more than 160 characters long SMSs cause disconnections.

Compatible phones without phonebook transfer:
(These phones will not disconnect randomly, be able to make calls and receive calls hands free etc, but not syncronize the phone book with the car)

Nokia: 3650, N-Gage, 6230, 6600, 6630, 6820, 7600
Samsung: D500, V500

Phones known to randomly work:
(These phones will work sometimes but not everytime.)

Sony Ericsson: P910i

Phones known to not work at all:
(These phones will not connect, syncronizr the phonebook etc)

Ipaq: h3640

As you know ours is a 1'er so this data could be of no use but I would have thought it would be close if not the same.

It would seem that their chosen partner is in fact Motorola. Good news and bad news I guess. I really do not like the way that Motorola implement the Phone book

Bonnie, that website is never updated (or hasn't been in a while) I think the last update on it was the V3.

I was looking at a D600 but as the D500 doesn't work properly I may just get the K750i as I know it works. I could get a D600 to try it and return if it's no use. Hmm, all options.

Where did you get that list SC?

The list was gathered together by BMW owners we all had input into what phones worked how well they worked etc etc and the list was made. Last update was November.
